American Express announced the impending launch of a new online travel solution designed for small businesses, powered by Rearden Commerce eCommerce platform company. This will help small firms benefit from best in class corporate negotiated rates for airfare, hotel and car rental provided by American Express Global Business Travel. Business owners will also have access to other features such as reporting capabilities, in-destination services, and the ability to set policy controls for employee business travel spending to control costs. And for the first time, small businesses will be afforded a holistic view of travel spend across their entire organization for company-wide travel expense visibility. With this, American Express OPEN Cardmembers will be able to use Membership Rewards currency when booking through the new portal, while also earning extra rewards points when they choose to purchase using their American Express card.
Dynamics next-generation payment cards purchased a state-of-the art facility in the Pittsburgh, PA region to serve as its new world headquarters. Dynamics worked closely with the Regional Industrial Development Corporation of Southwestern Pennsylvania (RIDC) to purchase the facility, which will house Dynamics’ administrative, engineering, manufacturing, secure payment card personalization, and R&D departments. Dynamics is currently in the process of moving its proprietary high-volume production equipment into the approximately 115,000 square foot facility, of which nearly 100,000 square feet is conditioned “clean room” engineering and manufacturing space.

Datacard Group secure ID and card personalization solutions announced Kern Schools Federal Credit Union has implemented Datacard “CardWizard” software for instant debit card issuance. Members leave the branch with an activated, ready-to-use debit card immediately after opening a new checking account or requesting a replacement card. The credit union recently expanded its use of CardWizard software to all of its seven full-service branch locations “replacing its existing instant card issuance software application due to CardWizard software’s superior functionally, ease-of-use, security features. The Federal Credit Union is also utilizing “Datacard 150i” card personalization system for instant card production and embossing.
John Postle has been named to GM of its Jack Henry & Associates’ Payment Processing Solutions (PPS) division. PPS encompasses Jack Henry & Associates’ “jhaPassPort” suite of ATM and debit transaction processing services, and the payment processing services added through the company’s October 2009 acquisition of Pemco Technologies. He served the past 10 years as the manager of the “jhaPassPort” business line and was instrumental in the acquisition of Pemco Technologies. Effective July 1, 2011, he began providing executive oversight of the development, quality assurance, support, installation, operations, communications, and education departments that support PPS. In his expanded role, he joined the company’s senior management team that encompasses functionally aligned general managers. He holds a BBA in Finance.

This lets them deliver one-to-one marketing messages, cross-sell products and services, issue coupons and certificates, and encourage immediate card activation. The new system turns blank white paper into personalized, full-color financial card carriers. Customized marketing messages and information”such as card activation steps or expanded terms and conditions”can be printed on-demand. The ability to go from bulk pre-printed paper to customized forms greatly reduces the need for financial card issuers to manage large supplies of pre-printed forms and build larger job sizes, dramatically reducing the operational complexities and cost.
Barnes International announced qualification of its GlobalPlatform Test Tool to ensure card products are compliant to GlobalPlatform UICC Card Configuration. The development of this new test tool is the result of the strong commitment that Barnes has made to developing tools for the mobile payment sector in general and to GlobalPlatform in particular. Barnes joined GlobalPlatform two years ago specifically to work with GlobalPlatform members as part of the Card Compliance Working Group on the development of UICC test tools. This complements Barnes’ existing payment card Personalisation Validation Test Tools providing rigorous, comprehensive and rapid card validation and quality control testing in a world where mobile and payment are rapidly converging.
