CreditCall payment gateway and EMV Chip and PIN expert launched its mPOS Toolkit Partner Programme for app developers at Apps World London. The mPOS Toolkit – including the CardEase Mobile SDK (Software Development Kit) – provides app developers with the tools they need to incorporate EMV certified Mobile Point of Sale (mPOS) card acceptance within their iOS and Android business applications. Joining the CreditCall Partner Programme will provide developers a fast route to market with unique access to a revenue stream from on-going referral payments. CreditCall’s mPOS Toolkit includes the CardEase Mobile SDK – which consists of the required API, precompiled native development libraries for iOS and Android and a development guide – a fully certified and EMV approved PINpad, a test platform, a transaction management and reporting tool, and access to CreditCall’s technical support team.

Inside Secure launched its “AT90SCR200” EMV-compliant smart card reader microcontroller, allowing developers to more quickly and easily attain EMV level one type approval for their products, an important symbol of quality throughout the industry. The new INSIDE smart card reader microcontroller complies with the EMV 2000 version 4.3 standard and is also pre-certified to all relevant industry standards, including PC/SC, ISO 7816, GIE-CB, GSM, USB FS 2.0 and WHQL. In addition, the AT90SCR200 delivers superior communications speeds and features 100 per cent byte code compatibility with all current INSIDE AT90SCR-series smart card reader microcontrollers. The INSIDE “AT90SCR200” may be used to create a bridge between a contact or contactless smart card (when used with an RF interface) or USB smart card and the host processor in a variety of card-based systems, including contact USB PC-Link smart card readers, smart keyboard, PinPad, embedded readers and laptop smart card readers and conditional access modules.
VeriFone will supply its “PAYware Merchant” card payment and settlement hosted service to Arcos Dorados McDonald’s brand across Latin America. Initially with 220 McDonald’s restaurants in Argentina and Uruguay, the “PAYware Merchant” will be integrated with a proprietary POS system to accommodate card payment processing at the point of sale. Arcos Dorados has also contracted to lease VeriFone card acceptance systems and will offer individual restaurants either the VX 810 PINpad or MX 870 multimedia payment system. This will allow customers to swipe their cards on a VeriFone acceptance device connected to a cash register. The cash register POS then passes the transaction to PAYware Merchant, which handles payment processing authorization and settlement between the acquirer and the restaurant system.
Datacard Group secure ID and card personalization solutions has made available its latest “CardWizard” card issuance software version, 5.3, following extensive research and development. Building on the custom background selection, optimum user interface and reporting functions, enhanced security and multiple language support, “CardWizard 5.3” software integrates Datacard “Affina” smart card software to let issuers build cost-effective smart card development and personalization into their card issuing environments. VeriFone is further expanding globally through its NFC/contactless payment acceptance systems, this time to Turkey. With this, Garanti and Turkish mobile network operator Avea have moved from pilot phase to general commercial availability of its mobile NFC payments using 10,000 Verifone devices. Consumers can purchase and install NFC capable SIM cards that allow them to use their mobile phones for electronic payment at NFC/contactless acceptance devices in merchant locations. VeriFone has more than 150,000 systems implemented throughout Turkey, using its “PINpad 1000SE” for NFC payment. With the new add-on SIM card with antenna from Gemalto and Garanti pre-paid MasterCard PayPass that is loaded in the SIM manufacturing stage, consumers can immediately adapt existing and new mobiles for NFC mobile payments.
VeriFone Systems announced a major, multi-million dollar order from Akbank for 41,000 VeriFone payment devices for deployment. With this, Akbank will provide card payment processing services to more than a quarter of a million merchants through 26,000 VeriFone “VX 520” countertop systems; 10,000 of the newly introduced “VX 680” wireless portable handheld payment device; and 5,000 of the PIN-based and contactless payment-enabled PINpad “1000SE” customer-activated systems. The “VX 520” and “VX 680” payments solutions support varied merchant environments for the ever-changing market needs. The “PINpad 1000SE” offers a way to accept the latest in both PIN-based and contactless payment and supports a wide range of payment and non-payment contactless applications.
