GreatCall wireless services announces a new collaboration with Experian’s “ProtectMyID” full-service provider of identity protection and resolution. With this, GreatCall customers who purchase the Jitterbug cell phone will be eligible to receive a free, one-year membership to “ProtectMyID.” By combining an identity protection product with GreatCall apps and services, Jitterbug customers will now be protected. Sage North America expanded its Sage Development Partner Program for its Sage Payment Solutions division. The program enables an independent software vendor (ISV) to offer integrated, Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliant credit card, debit card, and ACH payments within their on-premises or Web-based software products. ISVs who integrate their products to the Sage Exchange integrated payments platform will remove those products from the scope of the Payment Application Data Security Standard (PA-DSS). Sage Exchange provides full compliance with the PA-DSS.
The NFC Forum announced that Intel Corporation has upgraded from Principal to Sponsor level. Sponsor membership is the highest category, and its privileges include a seat on the NFC Forum Board of Directors, which manages the organization. Sponsor members may designate individuals to run for Forum leadership positions, and each Sponsor member may appoint one voting representative to all NFC Forum Committees and Working Groups. Other privileges include proposing Forum initiatives and participating in the NFC Forum testing and certification program using Sponsors’ own in-house test labs.
PCI-PAL contact center entered into a partnership with SecureTrading independent payment processor to allow call center agents to take card payments safely and securely. The solution de-scopes the call centre PCI risk by permitting callers to enter sensitive credit card data using their telephone keypad whilst remaining in conversation with the call centre agent at all times. The encrypted card holder data is sent securely to SecureTrading’s PCI-DSS Level 1 infrastructure. Both PCI-PAL and SecureTrading have large client bases which affords a mutually beneficial business relationship.
First Data Merchant Solutions has been selected by Volusion e-commerce shopping cart software and services for online merchants to provide additional payment processing options. This will see First Data Merchant Solutions support Volusion’s community of small and medium-sized businesses in accepting online credit and debit card payments. Volusion allows entrepreneurs and small business owners to quickly and easily set up all the elements required to sell products and services online, including website design, merchandising, multi-level marketing as well as debit and credit card processing. Now they will have the option to open a merchant account using a one click referral process, allowing them to accept and settle online card payments as a customer of First Data Merchant Solutions.
Eckoh plc customer service solutions using speech recognition announced a new reseller agreement with Servebase multi-channel payment processing provider. Servebase provides a wide range of business industries with a strong client base that includes Intercontinental Hotels Group, Burger King, Virgin Holidays and TUI Travel. This sees Eckoh providing Servebase with its PCI DSS compliant telephone payments service, EckohPAY, to complement their existing multi-channel payments offering. The EckohPAY product was developed to target the demand for PCI DSS compliant card processing solutions and is available to Eckoh’s indirect partners to resell.
Optimal Payments, a leading online payments provider, is now providing an innovative mobile payment solution to MORE TH>N, the direct financial services arm of insurance giant RSA. The solution is a set of mobile-optimised pages provided as part of Optimal’s NETBANX payment gateway and provides a secure, easy-to-use way for customers to renew their car insurance without the need to access the MORE TH>N website via their PC. This is in addition to MORE TH>N already having implemented the NETBANX payment gateway to process card payments online and by telephone for its consumer-facing insurance services. NETBANX’s Unified PayPage provides PCI DSS compliance on a flexible and secure payment system.
Stephen M. Buechner has been appointed Senior Credit and Risk Officer with GlobalCollect. As a member of GlobalCollect’s Executive Council, Buechner oversees GlobalCollect’s overall risk and credit governance and manages global compliance schemes such as PCI DSS. Prior to this, he served as the Head of Risk for Global Payments at Barclays PLC, where he was responsible for defining and implementing the risk management framework for Barclays Spain, Italy, Portugal, Germany, and France. He also held broad leadership positions within Barclays overseeing implementing payment risk strategies at Barclays’ Global Payment Operations Processing, and managing the payments principal risk remit across the Global Retail Bank.
Monitise is further strengthening its alliance with Visa Europe, which is investing GBP24.7 million in Monitise at an issue price of 35p per share for 70.5 million new Monitise shares. With this, Visa Europe President and Chief Executive Peter Ayliffe, will join Monitise’s Board of Directors. Monitise also announces it has agreed to acquire the 51% stake in its US joint venture, Monitise Americas, held by Metavante Corporation, a subsidiary of Fidelity National Information Services Inc. (NYSE: FIS) (“FIS”). FIS is one of the world’s largest global providers dedicated to banking and payments technologies. In consideration for the purchase, Metavante will be issued with a 3.3% stake in Monitise plc. Completion is conditional on shares being admitted to trading on AIM. Monitise’s acquisition of the 51% stake in Monitise Americas values that business at $29.4 million.

Veracode’s software security verification platform is also now available via its private cloud to all AWS customers for an automated, policy-driven approach to improving the security of internally developed, purchased or outsourced software applications and third-party components, as well as regulatory compliance assurance for strict industry standards.
Sage North America integrated its “ERP X3” business process management software for midsized distributors and manufacturers with its “Exchange” PCI certified payments platform. The Sage “ERP X3” customers in North America using versions 5 or 6 can now use Sage Exchange to process credit and debit card transactions that auto post into their Sage “ERP X3” system in a secure, PCI DSS environment. This is ultimately to help businesses streamline their payments process; increase order and payment accuracy; and deliver an improved customer experience by providing the convenience of accepting bank card payments in an integrated environment.
