Earthport global payments utility has contracted, integrated and is processing live transactions for a Western Union “direct to bank” solution. With this, Earthport will provide payments processing capabilities for a Western Union service providing international money transfer. Initially launched from selected Western Union agent locations and westernunion.com sites worldwide, this will allow people to send money directly to any bank account in more than 35 countries.

TSYS signed an agreement with IE, Parseq plc’s software division, to provide European cardholders with a mobile application. TSYS and IE have developed the TSYS Mobile App, a dedicated mobile application to help cardholders keep track of their credit card spend, which can be accessed through their smartphone. The solution will be integrated with TSYS’ “TS2” processing platform, and will allow cardholders to view account details on demand as well as receive notifications. Monitise signed a 5-year strategic partnership agreement with RBS Technology Services to broaden mobile banking and payments services across its banking divisions. The “Orbital Response” division provides outsourced services on behalf of its clients including mail order/home shopping sales, donation processing for charities and membership management schemes; either by telephone, online, email or post. Eckoh’s “EckohPAY” real-time PCI compliant payment solution is set for deployment in September 2011 for Orbital and will allow callers to make card payments conveniently and securely over the phone.
Earthport global payments utility has introduced its ‘epXchange’ web-based POS service to deliver “desk-top” payment for retail clients. This offers immediate access for Earthport clients to a cross-border payments service, removing the time and costs normally associated with a product implementation or in-house development. New clients implementing the software include Al Fardan Exchange and Al Samhouri Exchange.
Paul Bridgewater has appointed group executive, global product, with TSYS. A 23-year veteran of the payments and financial services industry, Bridgewater served as senior VP, payments, with Digital River, managing all aspects of its multi-million dollar internal payment services business unit. Bridgewater’s additional responsibilities at Digital River included product management and roadmap execution, third-party payment vendor relationships, payment services strategy, and real-time fraud and risk mitigation for its external payment services business. He also brings international payments experience from Citibank International, NatWest Bank, PLC, and Anker Data Systems.
