The “Ezio” solution includes strong authentication software, “Ezio Club EMV” card readers and consulting services. The driver behind the upgrade is to further develop AIB’s online offering with new and enhanced financial services for the benefit of customers. The “Ezio Club” reader is used to verify and sign transaction details, such as amount transferred and account credited, for a “sign-what-you-see” security measure ensures authenticity of the Internet Banking session while protecting the cardholder.

Eckoh developer of speech recognition solutions for customer contact centers, announces the award of a three-year renewal of its contract with O2, the communications company, for the provision of services using a web-based solution and speech recognition technology. The initial contract, announced in December 2004, was for an automated telephone-based service, which was extended to include an equivalent web offering in 2007. Under the current contract, Eckoh has enhanced its solution by deploying its PCI DSS compliant, EckohPAY product. Since its launch of the service in December 2004, the Company has handled over one million transactions on behalf of O2.

Barclays Bank has purchased MBNA Europe Bank Limited’s Small Business credit card portfolio. Consisting of approximately 60,000 accounts with approximately GBP130 million of outstanding balances as at 28 February 2011, this acquisition reinforces Barclays Global Retail Banking’s strategic ambition to achieve greater depth in its chosen markets and businesses. The portfolio will be integrated into its payment division, Barclaycard, which managed about GBP200 billion in payments for over 20 million consumers and over 240,000 business customers.
Standard Chartered has waived all charges on remittances made by its customers to India through its Online Banking Service. With zero charges on remittance transactions to Standard Chartered accounts as well as other bank accounts in India, consumers can take advantage of this until May 31st 2011. The U.S. Bank “AccelaPay” reloadable prepaid mobile banking application has been honored as the “Best in Category for Virtual or Mobile Prepaid Application” at the 2011 Paybefore Awards. U.S. Bank was selected by a panel of five industry experts who served as judges for the Awards, which recognizes the best products and programs in the prepaid business. In January, judges chose three (sometimes four) winners in 17 different categories. These winners then vied for “best in category” distinction at an awards ceremony March 7.This is the fourth Paybefore award for U.S. Bank. Paybefore chose the U.S. Bank AccelaPay mobile banking application as a 2011 Paybefore Awards winner in January.
