RI-based Citizens Bank and Charter One customers have opened
more than 15,000 CollegeSaver accounts since the bank introduced the
product last April. CollegeSaver enables customers to earn a $1,000 bonus plus interest for
opening an account by the sixth birthday of their child, grandchild or
loved one and saving a minimum of $25 per month until the child is 18.
Customers receive the $1,000 bonus plus all the accrued interest when
the child turns 18. Customers who start saving $100 per month when their child is 6 will
accumulate about $15,800, including the $1,000 bonus and interest earned
when their child turns 18. Customers who start saving $100 per month
when their child is born will have approximately $23,500 â a difference
of about $7,700. It is available to new and existing customers, and
insured by the FDIC up to the legal limit.

Financial risk management provider Trintech has been selected by electric utility Calpine to implement the Trintech’s ” Unity Xtensible Financial Reporting” (XFR) software with embedded support for report tagging and generation of XBRL-compliant financial statements. The NFC Forum has selected 20 finalists for its NFC Forum Global
Competition 2010. The submissions cover a broad

GA-based POS solution provider Radiant Systems has released “Token Replacement”, a new payment security feature that allocates a unique identifier, or token, to cardholder data at the RBS WorldPay host to prevent personal information from being stored on the point of sale. “Token Replacement” is designed as a point-of-sale feature that is tightly integrated into the latest version of the Aloha POS. When credit cards are swiped, data is first sent to the secure RBS WorldPay host, which then processes the payment and returns a unique token identifier to the POS for future reference. In addition, the seamless integration of Token Replacement with Aloha POS software increases speed of service by reducing processing time to let sales happen faster and maximize profits.

Alternative payment provider NEOVIA Financial Plc has announced
a significant deal with SeeSaw, the new online TV service in the UK to
introduce payment methods for premium content in the
coming months which will be provided by NEOVIA.
The deal with SeeSaw will mean NEOVIA will process all payments made on
SeeSaw.com via its NETBANX international payment gateway. Payment
options will include credit and debit cards and the NETELLER e-wallet.
The phased implementation will include rolled-up payments, subscription
billing, Direct Debit and streaming micropayments via the NETELLER e-wallet.
SeeSaw launched in the UK on 17 February 2010 providing TV fans with a
free, high quality archive and catch-up TV service. Later this year
SeeSaw will announce its pay launch which aims to have an additional
2,000 hours of premium content.
