certification means that CrossCheck now provides full support for the
terminal along with a set of check and card software applications. These
applications support authorizations through CrossCheckâs host for

GIRO Bankkártya Zrt (GBC) has launched new POS terminal services for all
acquirer banks and merchants present in the domestic market. GBC
extends its portfolio with new POS-related services that
include software development, terminal installation, service and
maintenance, merchant management, a 24hr help desk and terminal
handling, transaction processing and
clearing. The SIA-SSB subsidiary operates its own terminal management
system with substantial cost saving implications for the clients by
providing remote
software and parameter download options into the POS terminals. In
addition, the in-house POS software development activity covers the
banking, mobile top-up and other value-added functions as well.
GBC’s comprehensive solution will be provided to current and prospective
clients in Hungary and will be extended, in the near future, also to
other Central and Eastern European countries, among which Romania,

Hypercom has unveiled a new version of its “PCI PED” certified “P1300 PIN Pad.” The new “PV1310” handheld PIN entry device features a vendor-agnostic architecture that enables easy integration with non-Hypercom card payment terminals. The new device enables retailers to quickly add high security PCI certified PIN-based payments to their legacy systems without upgrading their entire terminal infrastructure. Key features of the new device include “Triple DES” encryption and “DUKPT” key; tamper-proof construction; flexible ergonomic design; large hard-rubber keys; and an alphanumeric LCD screen with two-line high-contrast display. The “Hypercom PV1310” is expected to be available for volume shipments starting in September.

Hypercom has unveiled the first high-security palm-sized 32-bit wireless credit/debit terminal with signature capture touch screen. The new “Optimum M4100 Blade” weighs 7.1 ounces and measuring 4.9 inches long, 2.7 inches wide, and 1.15 inches deep. It is also Wi-Fi, GPRS and Bluetooth-equipped. An optional clip-on printer with speeds of 12 lines per second (lps), delivering 100 two-receipt transactions per reloadable packet is also available. Additionally, it offers easy recharging and dial back-up by simply plugging into any wall socket or optional docking station with optional communication modules for downloads and transaction back-up via V.90 modem or Ethernet.
Coinamatic, Canada’s largest multi-housing laundry route operator, has agreed to purchase Hypercom’s new “T7Plus” credit/debit card terminals for use with their “SmartCity” smart card platform. The Hypercom terminals will be integrated into Coinamatic’s “SmartCity Card Reload Centre” kiosks and installed in or near the buildings where Coinamatic supplies smart card-activated laundry, parking and vending equipment as well as access control devices. Coinamatic has issued over 450,000 reloadable smart cards. Hypercom’s “T7Plus” terminals are the newest generation of the company’s 3-million-selling T7 series of point-of-sale devices with integrated printers.
