Hosted Data Transaction Solutions has entered into a five year agreement with ECOM
EcomCard Canada to market,
sell, and distribute prepaid “eCOM Gift Card MasterCard” and reloadable “eCOM
Prepaid MasterCard” cards. “eCOM Prepaid MasterCard” reloadable cardholders can use their card to make purchases or cash withdrawals at an ATM. Purchases and cash withdrawals are
deducted from the account balance and as the balance is spent, the cardholder can reload additional funds onto their card and are ideal for internet or telephone purchases as they offer cardholders the added security of knowing that there is no link to a credit card with a high amount of available credit,nor links to any consumer banking information. Cardholders can also activate
new cards and review their purchase history and card balance on-line.
HDX manages merchant transactions with consumers and facilitates payment. ECOM is a developer and marketer of prepaid gift,
payroll, travel, rebate, and incentive cards under the MasterCard brand.

MasterCard Launches a Rock Promotion

Jon Bon Jovi, Eric Clapton and Kenny Chesney have teamed up with MasterCard to offer five lucky MasterCard cardholders in the U.S. the opportunity to meet a rock legend as part of the “MasterCard Roots of Rock” Sweepstakes MasterCard has developed a site at priceless.com for consumers to experience the music and has collaborated with each of the three artists to create a virtual tour of the places where they cut their teeth on the road to music royalty. Consumers will be able to interactively explore these artists’ musical histories and chart each of their rises to fame. The site also features free Universal Music Group downloads for MasterCard cardholders, as well as comprehensive information on all three artists including bios, exclusive photos, concert tour dates, links to purchase the artists’ latest albums and to their official websites. Free video downloads from the PBS series Soundstage Presented by MasterCard are also available for MasterCard cardholders. Additionally, 252 customer financial institutions are in the promotion via direct mail, in-branch materials and promotional copy.

TracyLocke to Launch a MasterCard Campaign

Advertising agency TracyLocke has been named agency of record for U.S. National Promotions by MasterCard Worldwide. TracyLocke will initially create a series of concepts for the brand’s summer and holiday 2008 consumer usage promotion period and will leverage the equity MasterCard has in its “Priceless” brand platform.

MasterCard Revamps its Executive Committee

MasterCard this morning announced an organizational realignment broadening some executive responsibilities, hiring a new senior executive and beginning the transition process for the retirement of its COO, Alan Heuer, at the end of 2008. Heuer has been named to the newly created position of Vice Chairman. Gary Flood, former President, Global Account Management, has been named to the newly created position of President, Products and Services which includes MasterCard Advisors, Marketing and Product. Walt Macnee, former President, Americas, who has been named President, Global Markets. Chris McWilton, who has served as CFO has been named President, Global Accounts. All of the above changes are effective today. Martina Hund-Mejean, formerly with Tyco International, will succeed McWilton as CFO effective November 15th. In addition to the above MasterCard’s Executive Committee will also include: W. Roy Dunbar, President, Global Technology & Operations; Noah Hanft, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary; and, Michael Michl, Chief Administrative Officer.

MasterCard Launches Easy Savings for Biz Cards

MasterCard has launched a new savings program for “MasterCard BusinessCard” credit and signature debit cardholders. The new “Easy Savings” program offers automatic savings on goods and services from airline, hotel, restaurant, travel and other business services categories. Participating merchants include: Adminstaff, Avis, Budget, DHL, HRTools.com, Maggiano’s Little Italy, Midwest Airlines, Mimeo.com, SurePayroll, Website Pros, and Wyndham Hotels and Resorts. Card issuers offering their small business debit and credit card customers the benefits of the “MasterCard Easy Savings” program include Bank of America, Bank of the West, KeyBank, Washington Mutual, and Wells Fargo. The launch of “Easy Savings” is being supported by an extensive, integrated marketing campaign under the “Priceless” umbrella. According to MasterCard research, 75% of small businesses surveyed that use cards to pay business expenses are strongly interested in savings programs.

MasterCard Board Declares a Cash Dividend

The cash dividend of nine cents per share will be paid on February 9, 2007 to holders of record of its Class A common stock and Class B common stock as of January 12, 2007. ACCESS DineroYa Cards Add a Client

The Florida chapter of the League of United Latin American Citizens has entered into an agreement with Access Card Systems to offer its members the “ACCESS DineroYa Prepaid MasterCard” and the ACCESS DineroYa Maestro Card issued by BankFirst. The cards serve a large population of young adults, recent immigrants and other consumers who do not have bank accounts, cannot qualify or do not want credit cards. LULAC is the largest and oldest Hispanic Organization in the United States. Access Card Systems is a registered MasterCard Membership Service Provider.

Springbok Services Becomes MC Certified

MC Sweetens-Up the Upromise 529 Program

MasterCard has inked an exclusive debit relationship with MA-based Upromise to enable “Debit MasterCard” issuers to provide cardholders and their families with automatic bonus rebates, ranging from one to five percent for eligible purchases from participating retailers, towards a college education savings program. The participating issuer bonus contribution is in addition to the contribution funded by the Upromise merchant partner. Upromise has merchant and brand partner coalitions in the USA with 23,000 grocery and drug stores, 35 consumer packaged goods manufacturers, 14,000 gas stations, 8,000 restaurants and thousands of other partner retail locations. Citibank has had a long-standing relationship with Upromise.

Beaches Drive Summer Card Volume

A new MasterCard survey has found that Americans prefer to spend their down time luxuriating on a warm, sunny beach over any other activity. However, twenty-six percent of respondents were more concerned about losing their credit cards, travel documents (25%) or getting sick (24%) when compared with losing luggage (15%) or getting into an accident or otherwise damaging a rental car (10%). The preference for sun and surf was shared across all ages, income levels, genders and regions, the survey found. The survey also found that while Americans may dream of visiting far-off and exotic locales, when it actually comes to booking a vacation, few venture outside the country.

MC Unveils a New Priceless Spot Tonight

MasterCard is rolling-out a new “Priceless” TV spot tonight for its “World MasterCard” product, a hybrid credit card and charge card combo. The new 30-sec ad, entitled “Great Lady Golfer,” will debut during the season finale of ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy.” Rather than showing a series of purchases that lead to a “Priceless” moment, the new spot opens with a “Priceless” moment and shows how it leads to a series of related purchases. The spot will run through the end of September and will include print executions later this year, and will be integrated into www.priceless.com. McCann Erickson New York is handling the creative for the new ad campaign. The new ad follows last year’s “Priceless” spot, entitled “Candy Store,” that focused on the unique rewards platform of “World MasterCard” that enables cardholders to choose their own rewards based on their own life priorities.
