USA Technologies wireless, cashless payment and M2M telemetry solutions for small-ticket, self-serve retailing industries completed its broadest, integrated deployment of ePort telemetry of data with vending management solution provider and USAT DEX Partner, VendSys, for USAT customer, Rawls Distributing. The combined solution is designed to broaden the anticipated benefits of each technology, for even greater return on an operator’s investment. Rawls is an operator of more than 1,200 vending machines and utilized USAT and VendSys for its internet-based vending management systems.
Hypercom is outsourcing its manufacturing and is consolidating its assembly, software, repair and maintenance functions globally. The Company also announced a reconfiguration of the Company’s global sales and marketing functions and a major manufacturing deal with Singapore-based Venture Group. Among changes thus far: printed circuit board assembly operations formerly in Shenzhen have already been outsourced to the Company’s manufacturing partner’s facility in Johor Bahru, Malaysia; relocating U.S. service and repair operations from Phoenix, Arizona to Hermosillo, Mexico, and selling the Phoenix facility and adjacent land to a smaller facility. Hypercom also expects to wind-down its direct product manufacturing operations in Brazil by September. The Company also announced a partnership with Venture Corporation to transition Hypercom’s entire manufacturing operations in Shenzhen, China to Venture locations during 2007 and 2008. Additionally, Hypercom announced a reconfiguration of the Company’s global sales and marketing functions to create a focused platform for revenue growth, streamline the organization, and further strengthen accountability for client relationships and anticipated market share growth globally.
Hypercom will now support Planet Payment’s multi-currency processing product as an available application for Hypercom’s “Optimum T4100” terminals. Planet Payment’s Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) and Multi-Currency Pricing (MCP) services, provide merchants with pricing localization tools that can drive additional sales from international customers and improve customer service. With DCC, merchants continue to price their goods in United States dollars. After a MasterCard or VISA card issued in one of the supported foreign currencies is swiped on an Optimum terminal, the device will automatically display the transaction amount in both US Dollars and the customer’s currency. The customer can then select which currency he wants to use to complete the purchase, while the merchant still receives the settlement in US dollars. Planet Payment is a multi-currency payment and data processor.

placed an order for 1,500 Hypercom “Optimum” POS Terminals

PrivatBank has increased its POS network with more than 5,000 Hypercom “Optimum T2100” and “M2100” card payment terminals. The card payment terminals were supplied by Servus Systems Integration, the distributor of Hypercom products in Ukraine. Currently, PrivatBank’s number of issued cards exceeds 9.4 million, and there are 3,142 ATMs and 16,626 POS-terminals in its card servicing network.

El Corte Ingles has selected Hypercom as a preferred
provider of card payment PIN entry devices. The company has installed Hypercom EMV-certified “Optimum P2100” PIN pads in their two department stores in Portugal in conjunction with that country’s migration to EMV security standards. The Hypercom PIN pads have been deployed at El Corte Ingles’ Vilanova de Gaia, Porto store that opened in May as well as the company’s Lisbon location. El Corte Ingles is the largest retailer in Spain with approximately 74 department stores, 34 hypermarkets, 61 supermarkets and 140 smaller convenience stores.
Rahaxi Processing Oy. has received the Finnish EMV
certification required to sell Hypercom’s “Optimum T2100” card payment
terminal in Finland, and is commencing product sales immediately.
Rahaxi Processing will be the first distributor of the “T2100” in
Finland. EMV is the standard created by Europay, MasterCard and VISA
International to ensure that all Europay, MasterCard, and VISA branded
smart cards and all smart card reading terminals work together to
deliver global interoperability and enhanced security. Chip and PIN
technology is being implemented in Finland to increase security by using
smart cards in tandem with Personal Identification Numbers (PINs).

Prior to that, and for five years as President of Hypercom North America. Rawls previously served in various executive and general management positions with First Data Corporation, as President of Unified Merchant Services. Andrews served as Chief Executive Officer of Excell Agent Services, LLC, a privately-held $30 million company providing directory assistance and information services to major communications firms in North America, Canada and the Philippines. Previously, he held a number of executive management posts at MicroAge, an indirect sales-based IT products distribution and services company.
