Element Payment Services payment processing has made available its “ID TECH SecureKey M Series,” featuring Element “TransForm” point-to-point encryption (P2PE), a family of keyboard-emulated (driverless), point-of entry devices that encrypt both key-entered and MagStripe card data. Element “TransForm P2PE,” SecureKey devices protect cardholder data immediately upon entry, simplifying PCI compliance for merchants and software providers. Element and ID TECH have a long track record of providing secure hardware devices, paired with leading technology, to the marketplace. Recognizing a gap in the marketplace for a device to encrypt manually keyed transactions, which has long complicated PCI compliance and increased security costs, ID TECH and Element conceptualized and developed the SecureKey M series.
Merchant Warehouse merchant accounts and credit card processing solutions launched its “MerchantWARE 4.0” and integrated it with ID TECH into the MerchantWARE suite of products. The “MerchantWARE 4.0” provides a streamlined integration process for POS developers and also includes complete support of ID TECH standard and enhanced versions of their SL Secure Line of products. MerchantWARE now supports ID TECH’s SecureKey M130 and SecureMag products, as well as Triple Data Encryption Standard (TDES) and Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) methods. The cutting edge solution will incorporate CHARGE Anywhere’s award-winning PA DSS payment applications and PCI DSS Level 1 payment gateway with ID TECH’s trusted, innovative PCI secure PIN entry and EMV smart card reader technologies. Together, ID TECH and CHARGE Anywhere will create an all-in-one payment solution that will enable EMV CHIP/PIN, magnetic stripe, PIN debit transactions and print receipts to support all major mobile devices operating systems. With ID TECH’s MagStripe and CHIP & PIN capabilities this new solution, targeted for worldwide distribution, will empower EMV card payments and any other method of payment on mobile platforms such as, Android, Apple and BlackBerry.

ID TECH’s “SL Secure Line” products deliver reading performance while encrypting sensitive data that complies with PCI-DSS requirements. The “SL Secure Line” products support industry proven Triple DES (TDES) encryption and uses Derived Unique Key Per Transaction (DUKPT) key management. Data encryption technology is available on IDTECH’s wide range of point-of-sale financial transaction products including their growing line of mobile readers.
ID TECH automatic identification products is set to deploy the Voltage Security encryption end-to-end data protection across its POS financial transaction product and component offerings, including magnetic stripe, smart and contactless card readers, POS keyboards, signature capture devices, and secure PIN entry products. ID TECH products are implemented by NCR, Micros, HP, Red Box, Motorola and Ticketmaster to drive their payment solutions. ID TECH also announced it is joining the Voltage “SecureData Open License Program,” designed to lower the barriers to implementing end-to-end encryption across a wide variety of payment systems for POS devices, Electronic Cash Registers (ECRs), m-payment devices and eCommerce payment platforms. For ID TECH, Voltage “SecureData” encrypts cardholder data immediately; requires no need to inject keys into devices or manually rotate encryption keys; and employs end-to-end encryption across the widest range.
DOCOMO’s credit payment service has topped 10 million this week. “DCMX” enables subscribers to make purchases using their mobile phones as credit cards via “iD,” DOCOMO’s branded mobile payment platform for handsets equipped with contactless IC cards (Osaifu-Keitai). Currently, over 30 million DOCOMO customers use Osaifu-Keitai-compatible handsets and about 60% of all DOCOMO customers are using Osaifu-Keitai services. As of July 31st there were approximately 420,000 “iD” readers/writers nationwide. Subscribers of the standard “DCMX” and “DCMX GOLD” plans can also earn DOCOMO’s loyalty points each time they make a purchase transaction. Launched in April 2006, DCMX reached 1 million subscribers in November 2006, 5 million in February 2008 and 10 million, just three years and four months since the original launch.

ViVOtech has announced that the “ViVOpay 5000” Contactless Reader
of VISA’s Globally Interoperable Contactless Payment Specification has
received VISA Asia Pacific Level 3 Type Approval. This VISA approval
recognizes the reader as an industry standard that has undergone rigorous
testing demonstrating software stability, card data security and
interoperability. The “ViVOpay 5000” reader is compatible with all
worldwide contactless payment programs run by major organizations,
directs consumers through the contactless buying process with helpful
prompts, offers low-cost upgrading to existing POS systems, and has an
expandable memory slot for additional applications. Vivotech currently has
more than 250,000 NFC units in 22 countries.
The contactless push in the U.S. gained even more momentum as First Data confirms it has made a strategic investment in ViVOtech. FDC will also deploy ViVOtech’s collection of emerging technologies such as “Near Field Communication” terminals and mobile commerce enablement. Currently, ViVOtech has more than 250,000 units in 22 countries. The Company was the first vendor to deliver stand-alone contactless readers for “MasterCard PayPass” customers. FDC’s investment will come in the form of the company’s participation as lead investor in ViVOtech’s Series C round of financing.
