YapStone announced RentPayment, its online and mobile payment solution for the apartment rental industry, will now report rental payment information using TransUnion’s Resident Credit. The integration with ResidentCredit will offer a prompt, seamless reporting process for property managers and residents.
CA-based electronic payment processor RentPayment has renewed its agreement with VISA to offer an integrated payment solution to apartment landlords for their resident’s automatic monthly rent payments and for one-time rent and security deposit payments. By accepting VISA products through RentPayment, property managers benefit from reduced administrative expenses from software integration of the electronic payments and increased closing ratios when prospective residents can use their VISA card for security deposits for RentPayment’s over 2.5 million apartment units under management.
RentPayment has delivered a fully-integrated A/R automation solution for AvalonBay Communities to accept electronic payment for rent, security deposits, and other rent-related expenses. Following a successful pilot in March 2006, AvalonBay Communities has successfully integrated RentPayment’s technology platform across its entire portfolio resulting in substantial cost savings and enhanced efficiency. Personal checks, business checks, money orders and cashier’s checks are electronically converted to images and seamlessly integrated into AvalonBay’s property management software and its resident portal. They are now able to scan checks at the community or from a centralized location. RentPayment provided all necessary hardware and software integration, as well as technical support. RentPayment is the largest electronic payments processor in the multi-family industry.
Los Angles-based Green Dot has inked a deal with RentPayment, the largest electronic payments processor in the multifamily industry. RentPayment customers will have access to cash payment methods using Green Dot’s “MoneyPak.” “MoneyPak” loads cash onto prepaid cards and is available at CVS/Pharmacy, Radio Shack, Rite Aid, Walgreens, WalMart and Kroger. The “Green Dot MoneyPak” is available nationwide and can be used by consumers in any part of the country even if a business is regional, such as is the case with many multifamily and apartment facilities. RentPayment’s services are available in over 2 million apartment units. Green Dot’s products include the “Green Dot MasterCard/VISA and Discover branded prepaid debit cards, Green Dot credit cards and the “Green Dot MoneyPak.”
VISA U.S.A. and Lincoln Property Company this week announced an agreement to streamline rent payments for more than 10,000 residents of Lincoln’s premier development known as The Village in Dallas, TX. Beginning immediately, residents of The Village, which is comprised of 13 properties and 7,300 units, will have the option of paying their monthly rent automatically with their VISA card. In November 2000, VISA first launched a program to incent tenants to charge rent payments to their VISA cards. As a result, San Francisco-based RentPayment and VISA U.S.A. formed a partnership and launched a contest.
