VAT & SDOL

Irish Tax Authority has certified MasterCard Worldwide to provide its
Value Added Tax (VAT) with “Smart Data OnLine (SDOL)” invoice
reporting, allowing organizations to streamline the process. Purchases
made with a MasterCard afford the respective company access to VAT
information data via tax authorities using Smart Data reporting solutions.
Moreover, this agreement enables MasterCard issuing banks to increase
efficiency with no longer having to exchange individual paper files or forms
with customers. MasterCard Smart Data reporting solutions serve nearly
140,000 customers worldwide and has received VAT certification of its
Purchasing Card product in nine European countries.

UFJ NICOS Launches MasterCard Smart Data OnLine

UFJ NICOS and Mastercard have signed agreements to provide customers
with MasterCard “Smart Data OnLine”, a web-based reporting
application from MasterCard. “SDOL” is designed for corporations looking
to reconcile their expenses and eliminate time-consuming paperwork. The
application will provide UFJ NICOS’ customers with a tool to better
organize and manage financial data from MasterCard commercial card
programs. “SDOL” facilitates information management strategy for over
42,000 businesses worldwide in providing strategic
information-management capabilities. MasterCard Worldwide serves
consumers and businesses in more than 210 countries and territories.

Distra Inks a Deal with the U.K.’s Voca

Abacus International has signed a deal with MasterCard to provide access to Abacus’ data derived from credit card information
used as payment for air tickets. As a result, MasterCard will be able to seamlessly transfer the data via its enhanced airline data
program to its issuing customer financial institutions in Asia/Pacific
and its corporate customers. Empowered with additional expense-related data, corporations will be able to access to their employee’s airline transaction and travel data, without the need to manually record travel related information. With the data in hand, corporations will be able to now, simplify reconciliation and procurement processes, and schedule reports, as well as, download transaction data into their accounting system.

MasterCard Introduced a New Fraud Tool

MasterCard has introduced a new fraud protection tool. “Aristion” allows users to define a set of rules or criteria related to unacceptable card use. If a transaction or series of transactions meet these criteria, “Aristion” highlights transactions for further review. Subscribers to “Aristion” can feed any MasterCard transaction data into the system to determine whether cards are being used in accordance with agency guidelines. Importantly, “Aristion” can also accept non-monetary data, an extremely useful capability for spotting cases of potential account takeover or identity theft. MasterCard unveiled the new tool at the annual MasterCard International “Public Sector Forum.”

Societe Generale Expands Corp MasterCards

The top issuer of commercial cards in France, Societe Generale, is introducing “MasterCard Corporate” cards to service large and multinational corporations. The issuer will also launch an “Executive” version of the corporate card for senior managers and executives within its corporate customer organizations, according to this week’s issue of CardFlash International. The new cards available to major corporations will feature “MasterCard Smart Data onLine” which provides comprehensive MIS reporting. The new “Societe Generale MasterCard Corporate Card” can debit either corporate or individual accounts, benefits from a wide range of insurance and assistance services, and offers the choice of PIN code, a unique feature of Societe Generale card products. The “MasterCard Corporate Executive Card” has all the features of the standard “Corporate” card, but also includes a range of additional features, for example higher spending limits and additional privileges and VIP services, appropriate for senior or executive employees. Societe Generale serves more than 15 million retail customers worldwide.

MasterCard Middle Market Focus Rolled-Out

MasterCard yesterday rolled-out a new payment and expense management tool for mid-sized organizations that revolves around its “Corporate Multi Card.” The new “MasterCard Middle Market Focus” program will offer a wide range of MasterCard tools plus unprecedented savings on business travel through an exclusive relationship with Travelocity Business. Midsized companies using a valid MasterCard card that register for Travelocity Business will have the standard registration fee waived for a period of time, in addition to receiving Travelocity Business’ savings of up to 84% on traditional service fees and up to 26% in average airline costs. Additionally, a customizable Travelocity Business reservation site displays company-specific travel policies. “MasterCard Middle Market Focus” will also introduce “MasterCard QuickLaunch,” an online interactive tool that simplifies cardholder account set-up for the program administrator and enables a company to customize its card program from a personal computer through a secure Web site. Business owners can set up new cards for employees, set spending limits and adjust merchant category restrictions according to individual requirements. Other MasterCard tools for “MMF” include “MasterCard Exclusives Online”; “MasterCard Smart Data OnLine”; “MasterCard ExpenSys”; and Sales and Marketing Support. Mid-sized business are defined as companies with annual sales between $10 million and $250 million.

ABN AMRO N.V. has launched a “MasterCard Purchase Card” in The Netherlands that features “Smart Data OnLine” for Web-based, real-time information management. The new card is powered on Card Tech Limited’s “PRIME BIZ” platform which provides enhanced level-3 data, that is fully compliant with the latest MasterCard requirements. “PRIME BIZ” is a consolidated card and merchant management solution designed to address the specific processing requirements of the commercial card market, while also supporting retail card programs. The new p-card program builds on a five-year relationship between CTL and ABN AMRO.

Dah Sing also announced its alliance with GE Corporate Card. whereby Dah Sing Bank will issue Hong Kong Dollar-denominated corporate cards to GE’s subsidiaries and clients in the territory. This arrangement will allow GE to serve its clients with operations in Hong Kong without the complexities of running a credit card center here and for multinational clients it will minimize payment of high exchange rates.

Dah Sing Bank has launched a “MasterCard Corporate Card” and a “MasterCard
Corporate Purchasing Card.” As part of the product launch, Dah Sing has

MasterCard & Amadeus

MasterCard International announced it has signed an agreement with Amadeus, a global distribution system and travel technology provider, to help organizations maximize the efficiencies of their travel and entertainment procurement processes.

The agreement gives MasterCard Corporate Card cardholders greater access to sophisticated airline and rail itinerary data – including costs, travel dates, destinations, authorization codes, and coupon numbers – from any travel agent or travel service provider in more than 200 markets worldwide using Amadeus’ specialized GDS. The line-item detail is made available electronically and may be exported to internal systems via programs such as MasterCard Smart Data OnLine(TM) (SDOL), a Web-based, multiple-language expense management information system.

Under the agreement, MasterCard will leverage the global network of travel agents and travel service providers of Amadeus, a market leader in Western Europe and Latin America, to deliver companies comprehensive, high quality ticketing data. The arrangement will provide a unique central data feed solution to MasterCard corporate card cardholders, giving access to unparalleled travel data quality versus competitive options.
