London-based Worldpay is heading to Atlanta. The Company will occupy130,000 square feet over six floors in Atlanta’s Midtown business district. Worldpay received a $1.5 million City of Atlanta Economic Opportunity grant to help fund the relocation of its U.S. headquarters.
UK-based Worldpay has signed a deal to acquire Austin, TX-based SecureNet Payment Systems. The company’s sophisticated single stack of payment APIs and flexible architecture allows integration for all types of transactions, in all development languages, across all channels.
SecureNet is set to launch an innovative global infrastructure built around its cloud-based PayOS platform, which will allow for fully integrated international payment processing. Merchants of all sizes will be able to accept payments in more than 130 currencies worldwide upon the official launch slated for later this year. International clients will have access to the full breadth of SecureNet solutions currently offered to U.S. businesses, including an omnichannel merchant account, payment gateway, recurring billing, secure credit card storage, award-winning Inventory Management solution and detailed data analytics. SecureNet’s global infrastructure will encompass 25 countries, including the EU, Canada, Australia and the UK.
SecureNet has named Matt Odirakallumkal senior vice president of risk management. Here he will oversee the improvement of SecureNet’s merchant experience, including automated underwriting and boarding, and the simplifying of SecureNet’s online merchant application. He will also be responsible for increasing the speed at which new customers are onboarded. Matt will lead the underwriting and risk divisions at SecureNet.Matt has nearly 25 years of experience in the financial services and credit industries. In his previous role at Braintree, Matt led the development of the company’s underwriting and risk management strategy which included streamlined merchant boarding, establishment of underwriting/risk policies and procedures as well as the implementation their risk management system. He has served with Braintree and as director of US credit for Moneris Solutions.
SecureNet Payment Systems payment technology operating system announced Nish Modi has been named VP, Product. Bringing over 17 years of payment experience managing, designing and architecting products and systems, financial services and eCommerce industries, Modi was most recently at eBay. Here he led the strategic direction for consolidating all billing, invoicing and payments across eBay’s adjacent entities as Senior Manager Platform Strategy. Prior to eBay, Modi led product management strategy for First Data Corporation’s flagship Internet banking and business banking products.

Encrypting POS messages across different communication channels, such as DSL broadband, Cable modem broad band, Data enabled GPRS SIM or Data enabled CMDA fixed wireless phones, the POS terminals will be deployed by around 25,000 throughout 2011. GA-based Veracity Payment Solutions has signed a multi-year processing alliance with SecureNet Payment Systems.
In addition to the services agreement, Veracity will acquire a portion of
SecureNet’s merchant portfolio of approximately 1,500 retail locations.
Through this alliance Veracity can now offer enhanced Internet processing
solutions such as Electronic Invoicing, “Pinless” Debit and ACH processing. With this
joint alliance, Veracity’s merchant base will double in size to approximately 8,000 merchant
locations nationwide including the state of Hawaii. SecureNet Payment Systems’ flagship services SecureNet Virtual Terminal,
SecurePoS and SecureVault, are used by financial institutions, independent
sales organizations, payment processors, small- and medium-sized businesses as well
as enterprise institutions all over the world.
VISA has signed a multi-year agreement with Ventus Networks to provide wireless financial transaction routing technology and network management as part of their emerging products and services. Ventus Networks high-speed wireless transport solution operates in conjunction with TCP/IP and legacy protocols, enabling any remote device to communicate through a single network scheme. Ventus’ secured transport solution is recognized as falling within the VISA guidelines for CISP compliance. Oberthur Card Systems has recieved two nominations for the
Sesames, the prestigious smart card awards presented each year during
Cartes in Paris, France. Oberthur’s new banking and mobile communications
solutions have been short-listed for the awards. The “IDOne” is a nominee
for “Best Banking/Finance Application Award.” “IDOne” is a
multi-application and dual interface (contact/contactless) card, which
combines both payment and identity applications. “My Personal SIM” is a
nominee for “Best GSM Application Award.” “My Personal SIM” has been
developed for the Italian mobile operator WIND. It allows WIND’s
subscribers to manage their SIM content over-the-air on their own.
Keycorp Limited has signed a subcontracting agreement with PCCW Business
eSolutions for the provision of 1.2 million smart cards for Hong Kong ‘s
planned “Smart Identity Card System.” The current deal is expected to
generate more than A$5 million for Keycorp. Business eSolutions, a business
unit of PCCW, will utilise Keycorp’s MULTOS operating system to keep
personal data stored by the Immigration Department of the Government of the
HKSAR private and secure when “SMARTICS” replaces the laminated plastic
photo ID card system in use since 1987. The PCCW-led consortium was awarded
the project in February by the Hong Kong government after a competitive
bidding process. Keycorp will join other key technology partners in the
deal, including ACI Worldwide, Cogent Systems, SecureNet Asia, Mondex
International and TrÃ¼b AG.
