Gross dollar volume (GDV) for licensees of Discover-owned Diners Club International declined 3.0% year-on-year (YOY) in the third quarter of 2015 to $6.56 billion.
Lugano-based Cornèr Bank has inked a deal to acquire Diners Club Italia and Dinit from Discover Financial Services. Diners Club Italia is the Diners Club International licensee for Italy, San Marino and Vatican City and Dinit is a Diners Club card transaction processor in Slovenia.

Skrill digital payments announced customers can now use paysafecard to top up their Skrill Digital Wallets. This integration, which follows Skrill Group’s acquisition of paysafecard in early 2013, enables Skrill Digital Wallet users to add funds to their wallets quickly, easily, and safely, without the use of a credit card or bank account, adding a new option for loading money to the Skrill Digital Wallet. Users can purchase paysafecard in person at more than 450,000 sales outlets around the world. After purchasing paysafecard, customers can instantly top up the credit in their Skrill Digital Wallet using their “my paysafecard” account. Customers can load up to €300/£250, and after verification make top ups of up to €1,000/£850 a day and up to €3,000/£2,500 within a 30-day period. Customers can use them with any merchant that accepts Skrill payments, or to transfer money to other Skrill Digital Wallet holders.

This application is customized to the unique needs of the OTPay customer, making the online use of payment cards easier and more comfortable for cardholders. OTPay will provide consumers a new way to pay online, as well as creating options for bill payment, prepaid top up and person to person transactions. The OTPay mobile application will be available for download not only for OTP Bank customers, but for clients of other banks too. The application will allow cardholders to shop and pay at over 30,000 MasterPass™ accepting merchants around the world. MasterCard launches a new competition recognizing the best available mobile shopping applications in nine countries in Central and Eastern Europe, Russia and Turkey. Participating countries include Czech Republic, Croatia, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Romania, Russia and Turkey. The MasterCard Mobile Shopping Application Awards will recognise the best mobile applications that allow users to browse and optionally purchase products or services. Applicants will be judged and selected by an independent, international jury of renowned technology experts from the participating countries.
GlobalCollect online payment services in eCommerce, and XS Software, a leading platform for browser-based games announced the extension of their partnership and the first results of the launch of Maestro International; MasterCard’s secure debit card solution for eCommerce. XS Software has started processing Maestro in Bulgaria, Croatia, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Romania and Spain. Compared to the months of April and May, statistics showed the integration of Maestro has caused a significant rise of 9,13% in this month’s sales revenues of XS Software and an increase of the number of transactions with both Credit and Debit Card payments of 10,07% in these Euro markets. With the integration of Maestro, GlobalCollect ensured for XS Software access to a market of 60% of debit card holders who are ready to use their Maestro card for online payments.
