Sweden has become the first Nordic country to issue MasterPass digital wallets. Nordea, SEB and Swedbank are the first banks to issue MasterPass, soon to be joined by ICA Banken and Resurs Bank.
Seamless and Dwolla have teamed to enable money transfers between private individuals, also known as peer-to-peer, across the US via the digital payment solution SEQR. Additionally, Webhallen has upgraded their online shop with SEQR’s Instant Checkout service.
Until now, SEQR customers have been able to use their phones to make payments in stores where SEQR have an integration to the merchants’ cash register. SEQR customers will be able to shop with SEQR in any store that has NFC enabled card terminals, whether or not a merchant has a direct agreement with SEQR.

One of the key challenges presently facing the mobile payments market is the high level of market fragmentation, defined both by the multiplicity of platforms/solutions technologies being deployed and the increasing range of service configurations being offered.
