NCR released the latest version of its Fractals enterprise fraud detection solution, which delivers new eBanking fraud detection, powerful new fraud management features and an enhanced user interface. This new release incorporates many additions built in response to requests from the Fractals customer base.

VeriFone Systems announced its “Way2ride” mobile app that allows New York City taxi passengers to get in, tap, and get out the moment their ride is over. The “Way2ride” is available for iOS and Android smartphones, makes the taxi experience faster and easier for New Yorkers and business travelers by enabling riders to pre-load payment information and preferred tip amounts. Once inside the cab, passengers can pay at any time with a tap of their phone. At the end of the trip, riders can simply get out of the taxi and get on with their day. Digital receipts are stored in the app and accessible at Way2ride.com for easy tagging and expensing of business trips. After the New York launch, VeriFone will be expanding Way2ride acceptance throughout its network of more than 70,000 payment-enabled taxis worldwide. Way2ride uses VeriFone’s patented Zoosh sound-based technology to check passengers into their ride, allowing for secure transmission of payment information through the cloud.
Checkpoint Systems is scaling up its Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) project with leading apparel retailer C&A from five to 25 stores. As part of the C&A project in Germany, Checkpoint is providing RF/RFID antennas, point of sale RFID solution, software and consulting services. This will ensure that the merchandise is available on C&A store shelves in the right color, size and fit so consumers can always find the item they want when they are ready to buy. Implementing RFID in store means that retailers are more effectively and efficiently able to manage inventory and enhance loss prevention efforts. C&A selected Checkpoint for the RFID project to analyze processes and procedures for store deliveries, replenishment and inventories. C&A already implemented source tagging with Checkpoint for RF EAS several years ago, as a stepping stone for a potential RFID deployment.
Checkpoint Systems shrink management solutions, announced a new enhanced performance (EP) anti-theft EAS (Electronic Article Surveillance) food label for supermarkets that is certified to be microwave safe. The 4010 EP Food Label was designed specifically to protect fresh and frozen supermarket food. It has been certified as microwave safe and non-flammable by TUV Rheinland, an international service group that provides manufacturers with assessment and certification services to ensure product safety. The 4010 EP Food Label can be applied through high-speed source tagging at the point of manufacture, or through in-store tagging.

American Express has been ranked highest in customer satisfaction among U.S. credit card companies on the annual nationwide consumer study by J.D. Power and Associates. This places American Express highest in overall satisfaction among 11 of the largest card issuers in the U.S. American Express has received the study’s top ranking every year since it was launched in 2007. The J.D. Power and Associates 2012 Credit Card Satisfaction StudySM looks at six factors to determine overall satisfaction: Customer Interaction, Billing and Payment Process, Credit Card Terms, Rewards Programs, Benefits and Services, and Problem Resolution. This is through an enhanced website to provide an improved user experience; “tagging” to help Cardmembers create a customized view of their charges and simplifies the experience of managing their expenses; an all new Account Manager feature, making it easy for Cardmembers to list additional individuals, like a spouse or a business partner, who are authorized to access and manage their card accounts; and “My Offers” mobile offer engine that recommends and ranks relevant merchant offers in real time for U.S. Cardmembers based on their spending history and location.

Payfirma mobile point of sale apps launched its Android Mobile Payment App. Available on the iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and Blackberry, anyone with a Payfirma merchant account can now accept all major credit cards and VISA Debit on their Android mobile and tablet devices. The Android app has all the updated features from the recent mobile payment re-vamp released in January of this year. Payfirma is also working on NFC support for all its mobile payment applications, enabling users to simply wave or tap their NFC enabled credit or debit card to Payfirma’s point-of-sale system to accept payments.
