NCR Acquires uGenius, Enhances Video ATM Technology

NCR Corporation has purchased uGenius Technology video banking software to help it continue to grow its APTRA Interactive Teller solution. This lets consumers conduct remote, assisted-teller transactions over an ATM – speaking with a live teller who has control of the machine, which NCR will pilot for APTRA Interactive Teller throughout 1H/13. NCR and uGenius collaborated to build the first ATM that lets consumers talk and bank with a live, remote teller, which will let banks deliver a face-to-face banking experience for longer hours and offer more services to their customers. NCR also anticipates leveraging other uGenius technologies such as SmartOffice and Online Video Banking to expand the delivery of video banking to multi-channel solutions across NCR Financial Services and other industry verticals. Consumers can now connect and interact with a remote teller in a highly personalized, two-way audio/video experience.

NCR to Deploys Interactive Teller Service at FCU

Wright-Patt Credit Union will now implement “APTRA” Interactive Teller from NCR Corporation, allowing members to conduct remote, assisted-teller transactions over an ATM, interacting live with a centralized Wright-Patt teller who has control of the machine. APTRA Interactive Teller is part of NCR’s assisted service suite of solutions, combining the best of video collaboration and remote transaction-processing technology on an ATM. This will ultimately offer teller services after the branch has closed and add branch services in areas where they do not have a branch presence. Wright-Patt will install 12 walk-up units in branch lobbies and off-site locations, and seven additional units in branch drive-throughs. It also allows customers to perform secure transactions without using a traditional ATM card and, like branch tellers, remote tellers can provide customers access to cash in their accounts in amounts over the standard ATM daily cash withdrawal limits.

Euronet Worldwide Expands Independent ATM Deployment

Euronet Worldwide expanded its network of Independently Deployed ATMs from five to eight countries to now include Romania, Greece and Croatia. These are in addition to Poland, Germany, Czech Republic, Ukraine and Bulgaria and reinforces Euronet’s position in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). Euronet’s future plans include the addition of more countries to its growing IAD portfolio to optimize opportunities created by the Payment Services Directive (PSD). With PSD, IAD’s in pan-European countries will essentially operate under a payment services license which will enable Euronet to expedite time-to-market entry and leverage its existing processing infrastructure and ATM management know-how – translating into direct benefits for both banks and end-users.

State Bank of Mysore Inks CCAvenue.com for Direct Debit

Avenues ecommerce company has signed a direct debit agreement with State Bank of Mysore for online shopping. CCAvenue.com neutral payment gateway used by 85% of India’s retailers allow affiliated merchants to sell products and services from clothing and books to computer repair and video rentals. This arrangement with CCAvenue.com will enable State Bank of Mysore account holders to pay for any product or service sold on any CCAvenue.com affiliated merchant website directly through their State Bank of Mysore bank account. The addition of State Bank of Mysore to Avenues ever growing direct debit payment option list means that CCAvenue.com affiliated merchants will be able to reach and sell to a wider audience.

Radiant Systems has made available its “Radiant Security” products and services to assist restaurant and retail operators in a layered defense against criminal tactics targeted at the theft of consumer data. The transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2011. MasterCard is acquiring the Travelex operations that manage and deliver consumer and corporate prepaid travel cards to business partners around the world, including financial institutions, retailers, travel agents and foreign exchange bureaus. These operations also manage cross-border payroll, per-diem and expense-management prepaid cards for corporations. MasterCard has no plans to issue cards directly as a result of this transaction. The deal is an extension of a strong and long-term partnership between MasterCard and Travelex. Last year, the two companies expanded their relationship by agreeing to convert the majority of Travelex card programs to the MasterCard brand and by implementing the global prepaid transaction-processing capabilities of MasterCard Integrated Processing Solutions™ (IPS). MasterCard IPS provides financial institutions world-class debit and prepaid processing solutions that are scalable, reliable, secure and flexible.
