Diners Club and Alternatifbank (ABank) have inked an agreement to form a new Diners Club International issuing franchise in Turkey. The agreement makes ABank the exclusive Diners Club card issuing franchise in Turkey.

MasterCard and BANSEFI announced a partnership to foster financial inclusion in Mexico through the disbursement of social benefits using electronic payments. The BANSEFI MASMasterCard-branded card is part of the recently launched social support program developed by the Mexican Government.
Monitise banking technology partnered Kredi Bank to offer Nuvo ‘branchless banking’ service with mobile commerce capabilities. This allows customers to open accounts and complete all their transactions via mobile and internet banking, Nuvo enables consumers to manage their money and take advantage of mobile shopping and commerce services in their own time and from anywhere. Account features include competitive interest rates, free account transactions and money transfers, and perks such as Yapı Kredi’s World Gold or Play Card loyalty programs. In addition to delivering banking convenience, Nuvo offers exclusive shopping benefits to its users, including discounts and reduced delivery costs. Nuvo is currently available on iOS and Android, in both Turkish and English.
UnionPay International (UPI) signed a cooperation agreement in Shanghai with Leumi Card to begin the acceptance of UnionPay cards by merchants and ATMs in Israel. Leumi Card is the first cooperative acquirer of UnionPay International in Israel, providing access to over 40,000 merchants covering nearly all places frequently visited by tourists, and about 360 ATMs across Israel. Bank Leumi has about a 30% market share in Israel.

Ingenico and PAVO Inc., collaborated to develop the iWE280, a new generation of mobile cash register with electronic fund transfer capability (EFT-POS) as a consequence of a market organization required by the Turkish State. The iWE280 is designed to process a wide range of payments types; customers can use contactless cards such as NFC cards, bank and public transport cards, but also smartcards and cards with magnetic stripes.
