MoneyGram Ambassador to Stand for Election to the Board
MoneyGram International money payment announced Ambassador Antonio Garza (Ret.) will stand for election to the MoneyGram Board of Directors, bringing the number of directors up to 10, five of whom will be independent. Ambassador Antonio Garza was the U.S. Ambassador to Mexico from 2002 to 2009. He is currently an attorney in the Mexico City office of White & Case LLP, an international law firm, where he has worked since 2010. He has also served as chairman of ViaNovo Ventures, the cross-border unit of a management consulting firm, since 2009. Ambassador Garza was elected to the Texas Railroad Commission in 1998 and served as its Chairman from 1999 until 2002. He is a former partner at Bracewell & Patterson (now Bracewell & Giuliani) and previously served as Secretary of State of the State of Texas and Senior Policy Advisor to the Governor of the State of Texas from 1994 to 1997.
