Keynote Systems Launches mContent Testing

Keynote Systems Internet and mobile cloud monitoring has launched its “MITE 2” (Mobile Internet Testing Environment) for automated testing and verification of mobile content. This lets mobile content developers test and verify mobile Web content using a built-in library of 1,800 devices and 11,000 devices profiles for free download at mite.keynote.com. Also, “MITE” offers many useful features and functionality that allows mobile content owners, providers and QA professionals to quickly see how well Web sites, content, and applications perform from an end-user’s perspective. With this, an embedded WebKit browser engine lets users interact with any mobile Web site and get the most accurate end user perspective; customize the device library to expand upon the 11,000 profiles that come standard in MITE; automate mobile content testing; and verify that a mobile Web site is optimized for a given device using a score and actionable recommendations.

PlaySpan monetization solutions for digital goods, social networks, online games and videos has received Level 1 certification of PCI-DSS for its Monetization-as-a-Service Platform from the PCI Security Standards Council. PlaySpan also achieved SAS 70 (Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70), one of the most stringent auditing standards for service companies. SAS 70 was developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) for service providers that wish to demonstrate a high level of control effectiveness to independent auditors.

In2Pay microSD is an innovative new technology that enables mobile users to transform a smart phone with a microSD slot into a mobile payment device. The Monitise developed user interface can be integrated with a variety of mobile banking applications, enabling financial institutions to offer their customers a suite of mobile services, including mobile payments, balances inquiries, mini-statements, bill payment, and funds transfers. Vodafone Kicksoff Annual Wireless Innovation Project

The Vodafone Americas Foundation and mHealth Alliance are introducing the annual Vodafone Americas Foundation Wireless Innovation Project and mHealth Alliance Award competition to identify and support promising wireless-related technologies to address critical social issues around the globe. Proposals will be accepted from September 27, 2010 through December 15 with the final winners announced at the annual Global Philanthropy Forum in Redwood City, CA in April 2011. The Vodafone Americas Foundation Wireless Innovation Project(TM) will award $300,000, $200,000 and $100,000, to the first, second and third-place winners. Vodafone has long recognized that wireless technology has the potential to make the significant impacts in the world — particularly in developing countries.

Keynote Competitive Research has released its smartphone mobile commerce index, the “Mobile Commerce Index.” Offering a weekly performance ranking of leading and up-and-coming US retail mobile Web sites being accessed using popular wireless device profiles, including the Apple iPhone, it underscores the critical issue of mobile site performance and establishes performance benchmarks across a representative sampling of mobile Web sites. The Index shows the average response times and success rates for downloading the homepage of selected mobile commerce sites on popular smartphones using Keynote’s commercially available mobile performance monitoring solution, Mobile Application Perspective. The response times and success rates are then combined to provide an overall score. The m-commerce sites that appear in the Index were selected to provide a benchmark for companies to compare their mobile site performance against a representative sampling of e-retailers.

Keynote Competitive has released its first smartphone “Mobile Financial Services Performance Index,” weekly performance ranking of the Websites of leading U.S. banks, brokerages and credit card companies when accessed by a variety of leading smartphones. The Index shows the average response times, success rates and download speeds for downloading the homepage of selected US financial services mobile sites on popular smartphones using Keynote’s commercially available mobile performance monitoring solution, Mobile Application Perspective. The financial services sites that appear in the index were selected to provide an industry benchmark for well-known company sites. The Mobile Financial Services Performance Index is the benchmark for financial companies to compare their mobile site performance against the biggest names in the industry. Measurements are taken from New York, Dallas, Chicago and San Francisco to measure single page downloads of the home page of the mobile Web site.

ClickandBuy International Appoints Executive Director

Oliver Kinne has been appoints executive director with ClickandBuy International effective immediately. In his new role he will be responsible for expanding international market share. Kinne previously led carrier business in Southeast Asia and the Pacific and Global Sales Vodafone at Nokia. ClickandBuy internet payment services is used for internet purchases by over 13
million people. Having doubled its turnover generated by traders and end customers to EUR922 million (TTV) in 2008, the ClickandBuy Group first crossed the billion euro threshold in 2009.

Roamware Makes Available Cardless ATM

Roamware mobile roaming solutions and financial services has made available its “Cardless ATM” service. Allowing customers to withdraw cash from an ATM without the use of a cash card, “Cardless ATM” can be used in case of loss or theft of a cash card as well as to send money to friends or family at home or abroad. “Cardless ATM” is already in use in Europe and is one of many mobile financial products that Roamware has made available to banks and mobile operators since the acquisition of mobile financial services developer Macalla Software in 2009. Vodafone Announce Winners of Wireless Innovation Competitions

The Vodafone Americas Foundation and mHealth Alliance have announced the winners of the second
annual Wireless Innovation Project at the Global Philanthropy Forum Conference.
The second place winner, FrontlineSMS:Credit
was awarded $200,000. FrontlineSMS:Credit has the potential to open
up financial services and micro-financing to millions of people in the
developing world. The application leverages mobile payment systems and
core banking software to bring financial services – such as savings,
credit, insurance and payroll – to the entrepreneurial poor, eliminating
geographic and time barriers and turning mobile payment systems into
platforms for mobile banking. Award winners were selected from a pool of nearly 100 qualified
applicants from universities and non-governmental organizations
throughout the United States. A panel of judges from the fields of
wireless engineering, international development, social entrepreneurship
and business evaluated the applications for their potential to solve
critical global problems in the fields of education, health, access to
communication, the environment or economic development.
