CyberSource announced Facebook has extended its agreement to use the CyberSource “Payment Management Platform” for credit and debit card payments. The new agreement extends an existing worldwide relationship. CyberSource Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Visa Inc., is a payment management company. Over 390,000 businesses worldwide use CyberSource and Authorize.Net brand solutions to process online payments, streamline fraud management, and simplify payment security.
Wincor Nixdorf banking and retail IT solutions finalized an agreement with Global Cash Access to provide additional cash dispensing ATMs in U.S. casinos. With this, Wincor Nixdorf will provide GCA 45 ProCash 1500xe cash dispensing ATMs, increasing GCAs installed base of Wincor Nixdorf ATMs to approximately 900. GCA also utilizes Wincor Nixdorf’s ProCash ATM application software, ProView multivendor ATM monitoring software and PC/E Terminal Security.

J.P. Morgan’s Commercial Card Solutions unit announced that its Department of Energy client expanded its “GSA SmartPay2” charge card program by enabling one of its major contractors to use J.P. Morgan’s Single-Use Accounts solution to make electronic card payments to its vendors. Subsequently, CWI pays vendors more quickly, continues to reduce its paper-based payment processes, further increases payment security, and reaps the benefit of collecting financial rebates and expects to have more than 100 of its largest vendors accepting Single-Use Account payments by year-end. SUA helps expand CWI’s SmartPay2 program participation by including large-dollar payments.
Visa is set to sponsor four new U.S. Olympic and Paralympic hopefuls on their journey to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games for a total of 10 U.S. Olympic and Paralympic hopefuls. Wincor Nixdorf has finalized a deal with Winston-Salem based BB&T Corporation to provide ATM hardware and associated services for up to 100 branch and off-premise locations in North Carolina and Florida. The 100 new ATMs will all feature touch screen capabilities, a new functional enhancement for the BB&T fleet. These units will be equipped with Wincor Nixdorf’s ProFlex multi-vendor ATM software. In addition to its ATMs, Wincor Nixdorf also offers “ProFlex” advanced multi-vendor software platform that allows all ATMs to work together seamlessly, regardless of manufacturer. Wincor was the first to develop multi-vendor software and currently leads the industry in the total number of installations worldwide.

In 2011, banks are projected to focus on automation, security and flexible software at ATMs. With the loss of revenue from overdraft charges, automation is becoming a necessity, consumers continue to demand more features and functionality at their ATM and envelope-less cash/check deposit is more important than ever. This, according to Wincor Nixdorf, also shows banks will increasingly need to protect their customers by investing in more sophisticated security measures to reduce the time and costs spent on securing the ATM and will provide managers with assurance that their ATMs are less vulnerable to fraud. The flexible software will come into play to fully leverage the ATM channel, allowing for enhanced ATMs and constantly improve their offerings to engage, communicate and remain at the forefront of the customer’s financial needs.
Citi has partnered with the New York City Department of Small Business Services (SBS) to help New York
City’s small businesses and entrepreneurs obtain the technical assistance and financing they need to
start, operate and expand. Citi Community Development will provide $385,000 in funding to the new
partnership for expanding and enabling NYC Business Solutions to help more customers in all five boroughs
with accounting and loan packaging assistance. The funding from Citi will help address this issue by
enabling a larger volume of businesses in New York City to receive one-on-one technical assistance to
develop and manage the proper financial documentation. Also, Citi will launch an employee skill-based
volunteer initiative to provide mentorship and ongoing consultation between Citibank Small Business
bankers or underwriters and NYC Business Solutions financing account managers and ACCION loan officers
in New York City will be matched to Citi employees, a microfinance organization providing flexible loans.
