NCR Corporation, the global leader in consumer transaction technologies, announced that Tevis Oil Company has selected NCR’s Radiant point-of-sale (RPOS) technology solutions to improve service and reliability at its Jiffy Mart convenience store chain.The NCR RPOS solution provides Jiffy Mart stores with a new layer of redundancy that allows an entire site to remain operational even if they have an issue with a single POS device. Software updates can be made remotely from central office locations and do not require the site to shut down when changes are made as they were in the past.

theft protection software to its banking customers at no cost. ID Vault
protects users from the growing
threats when they bank, shop and invest online. “ID Vault” provides
single-click, secure sign-on to financial sites,
eliminating exposure to online fraud through its end-to-end, continuous
protection, regardless of whether or not the anti-virus software or
browser is able to identify a threat. ID Vault stores all account user
names and passwords in a highly
encrypted, secure software vault on the PC. This data is accessible only
via a user-defined PIN, which is authenticated by White Sky servers,
providing true two-factor authentication. ID Vault automates the sign-in
procedure, protecting consumers from Trojan, keylogging, screen scraping

ID risk management provider Intersections will update its “ID Vault” personal password and online identity protection technology to provide broader protection against more sophisticated security threats. “ID Vault” offers protection against online identity theft and fraud

usernames and passwords in a tamper-proof, smart card-based USB device. The service monitors a “white
list” of more than 8,500 financial and shopping sites, and verifies the
IP addresses and sign-in protocols of these sites in order to protect
consumers from signing into fraudulent imposter sites designed to steal
online identities. ID Vault automatically signs consumers into their
online accounts without typing, so they’re protected against keystroke
loggers and other spyware. The new service will also be available to Intersections’ financial services partners.
Contract food service provider Compass Group North America will begin
accepting MasterCard PayPass at select cafeterias. Throughout 2009,
Compass Group will deploy PayPass-accepting Vivotech
4500M contactless readers at check-out lanes across its foodservice
locations. Compass Group will accept MasterCard PayPass in addition to
all other traditional magnetic-stripe payment card brands.
As of 4Q 2008, there are over 50 million PayPass cards and devices
in use at over 141,000 merchant locations worldwide, including
participating BP, Best Buy, 7-Eleven, CVS, McDonald’s, Petco and many
others. PayPass also is accepted at numerous professional football and
Siam Commercial Bank has signed a five-year contract with Experian. It is Experian’s sixth financial customer in Thailand.

include business term loans, leases, overdrafts, credit cards,

The American Bankers Association and the American Bankers Insurance Association jointly announced the formation of The HSA Council, an organization of banks, insurers and technology leaders committed to increasing the distribution of health savings accounts through banks The HSA Council will identify public policy hurdles and propose solutions to decision-makers in Congress and the administration in hopes of increasing the adoption velocity of health savings accounts in the health insurance market. ABIA is a separately chartered affiliate of the American Bankers Association.
Nishe Media, a multinational media and advertising firm specializing in vertical market communications, has signed an agreement to license Smart Chip Technologies’ loyalty program management solution.
Smart Chip Technologies’ turnkey customer retention solution, including
loyalty, pre-paid stored value, and gift cards, was co-developed with
the Airos Group and IBM. The software solution enables customers to take advantage of click-and-mortar, real-time programs running on their existing cards and POS systems, including bar code, magnetic stripe, RFID, or smart cards, laptops, PDAs such as Palm or Windows devices, TV set top boxes, or mobile phones.
FL-based Applied Digital Solutions has introduced “VeriPay,” a subdermal RFID solution providing cutting-edge payment technology for cash and credit transactions. “VeriPay” is based on the Company’s “VeriChip” which is about the size of a grain of rice. ADS says that embedding the payment technology under the skin offers a much more secure, tamper-proof, and loss-proof solution. The standard location of the microchip is in the triceps area between the elbow and the shoulder of the right arm. The brief outpatient “chipping” procedure lasts just a few minutes and involves only local anesthetic followed by quick, painless insertion of the “VeriChip.” Once inserted just under the skin, the “VeriChip” is inconspicuous to the naked eye. A small amount of radio frequency energy passes from the scanner energizing the dormant “VeriChip,” which then emits a radio frequency signal transmitting the verification number.
PA-based E-Duction and Vacation Express have signed an agreement to enable cardholders of E-Duction’s “CLEAR MasterCard,” a payroll deduction credit card, to purchase Vacation Express’ tour packages interest-free over a six-month period, with payments automatically deducted from their paychecks. CLEAR is a payroll deduction card that allows employees to purchase products and services worldwide and pay for them via payroll deduction. Most purchases are paid back over a two-month period interest-free.

The new service enables them to offer their prepaid wireless subscribers the ability to purchase airtime using their payment cards anytime, anywhere. In addition, bcgi enables carriers to bring the offering to market quickly through its TOTALsource implementation model.
