Braintree Now Processes $10mm Daily

The volume of credit card transactions processed by Braintree soared to over $10 million per day, 300 percent of the volume from the same period a year ago, the company announced. Banco Santander to Deploy 2000 Diebold ATMs

Banco Santander signed agreements with Diebold for the manufacture, delivery and installation of approximately 2,000 new cash dispensers. Custom developed for Brazilians, the machines will serve the largest ATM market in Latin America, which accounts for about 60% of ATMs in the region. Banco Santander chose Diebold based on tests on production, infrastructure and security.

EastNets partners Qtel Group for m-Remittance

EastNets compliance and payments solutions and services recently signed an agreement with the Qtel Group to provide the technology platform and expertise to support the regional and global rollout of the Qtel Group’s mobile money services across key markets, enabling international remittance globally. EastNets will provide the full infrastructure needed to host Qtel’s “mobile wallet” service, running the entire operation of the hosted services through a primary site in Dubai and a Disaster Recovery (DR) site in Bahrain. Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) will connect to the primary and DR sites through a secure VPN Connection. VeriFone Systems announced an Linux-based POS payment device that integrates a NFC contactless reader. The H5000 runs Linux on an ARM11 processor, offers a 3.5-inch color touchscreen, and supports multiple payment types– including legacy magnetic stripe, EMV smartcards, and contactless cards — with a single hybrid card slot, says the company. VeriFone, which has previously offered Linux-based payment devices such as the MX870, says its new H5000 will be initially aimed at the German market.
