Compass Plus Implements Platform With National Bank of Tajikistan

Compass Plus’ “TranzWare” platform will serve the National Bank of Tajikistan, allowing its national processing center to provide a reliable platform for card payment processing. Consolidating existing infrastructure of bank card acceptance throughout the Country, this will let financial institutions issue local as well as international bank cards on their own national platform. The platform will also offer access to internet and mobile banking. This coincides with 1Q/11 findings showing card holders in Tajikistan conducted more than 818,700 payment operations, totaling USD 72million for an increase of 150.6% and 123.1% respectively.

Giesecke & Devrient (G&D) is the winner of Frost & Sullivan’s “2011 ICT Europe Smart Cards Service Company of the Year” award for having shown excellence in the development of hardware and software for smartcards over the previous year. The award was presented by the market research company Frost & Sullivan and an independent panel of distinguished international industry executives. CSC Bank of Lebanon Signs to Issue JCB International Cards

CSC Bank (CSC) and JCB International (JCBI) have completed a card issuing license agreement, by which CSC will issue JCB Cards to CSC’s customers. The first bank to issue JCB Cards in Lebanon, CSC will allow its merchants to accept the cards across the country. This development builds on discussion between the organizations to expand their relationship even further throughout the region. JCB began its merchant acquiring business in Lebanon since 1997 through alliance with CSC.

Banco de la Provincia Implements Wincor Nixdorf ATMs

The Argentinian Banco de la Provincia forged contracts with Wincor Nixdorf to deploy 280 ATMs, one hundred of which equipped with cash and check deposit modules (CCDMs) by 2012. The bank started operating more than 140 Wincor Nixdorf ATMs in 2010, and the systems have been leading the availability ranking of the two Argentinian network operators ever since. Those new systems that are equipped with cash and check deposit modules can be used by bank customers to deposit banknotes. At the beginning of next year – since that is when the network operator plans to provide the necessary software – the bank will also automate check deposits by migrating them to self-service systems.
