Patco Deploys Visa contactless commuter pre-paid card

PATCO and Cubic Transportation Systems partnered to provide Philadelphia/New Jersey region commuters a transit-branded, contactless Visa prepaid card. The new PATCO “Wave” & “Pay ANYWHERE” Visa Prepaid Card began a 12-month pilot program on September 26. Allowing consumers to use the same transit payment card for both transit and retail purchases, this “open-loop” payment system uses contactless bank cards that give users the opportunity to spend money wherever the card is accepted. The PATCO Wave & Pay ANYWHERE Visa Prepaid Card is a contactless, general purpose, reloadable card. It is one of the lowest fee prepaid cards on the market. To participate, PATCO riders can get a free PATCO Wave & Pay ANYWHERE Visa(R) Prepaid Card with no enrollment free from brand ambassadors who will be on site for the first two weeks of the pilot at six PATCO stations where special kiosks will be located to enable customers to load their cards.

Euronet Worldwide To Launch m-Payment

Euronet Worldwide global electronic payments provider is set to launch its “wipit” mobile payment service on the Google Android or Apple iOS smart phone app. The service provides consumers a single-click purchase on mobile ecommerce purchases, funded with a credit or debit card. While users can choose to link a credit card as their account payment method, the offering is focused on enabling cash-preferred consumers to participate in mobile payments and in-app purchases. Consumers download the “wipit” mobile app, establish their account, and utilize the store locator to find a convenient Euronet-enabled retail location to add funds to their account.

Foregenix and Semafone partnered to allow call center clients to reduce their PCI scope, risks and associated costs by removing cardholder data from the call center environment. VietinBank To Issue its First JCB card

Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade (VietinBank), one of the largest state-owned commercial banks in Vietnam and JCB International (JCBI), the international operations subsidiary of JCB, the only global payment brand based in Japan launched the “VietinBank-JCB Cremium” card. JCB and JCBI entered into the Vietnam market to expand JCB card acceptance in 1991. The “VietinBank-JCB Cremium” cards will be accepted at over 34,000 JCB merchants in Vietnam, as well as the worldwide acceptance of 18 million merchants globally through JCB’s merchant network located in 190 countries and territories. The card will be issued as both the Standard card (with a credit limit of 50 million dong) and the Gold card (with a credit limit from 50 to 300 million dong).
