SHAZAM & Adaptive Payments to Launch New Payment Technology

The SHAZAM Network partnered with Adaptive Payments to launch their new “Pentagon” mobile POS application. The platform will allow merchants to accept mobile PIN- and signature-based transactions using an iPhone. SHAZAM will make the technology available to its nearly 1,500 community financial institutions and its merchant customer base. The technology that supports the Pentagon mobile payments application is unique to the marketplace as it uses Adaptive Payments’ 5DSecure five factor, dual channel authentication technology to authenticate PIN debit transactions quickly and securely. The company is also committed to defending its position as well as that of its customers and resellers named in the lawsuit.T8 Webware’s offerings focus on a broad spectrum of Internet-based services. Serverside Group Ltd. and Serverside Graphics Inc. obtained a pair of U.S. patents on April 26 and May 24, 2011. In June, Serverside announced it was suing 15 credit card manufacturers, service providers, banks and credit unions – including T8 Webware and a bank customer, claiming its new patents cover the concept of customizing a credit card with an image supplied by a user over the Internet.

Purdue Federal Launches Student-Designed Debit Cards

Purdue Federal Credit Union (Purdue Federal) announces a new way for the community to show school spirit for their favorite high school with custom, student-designed debit cards for Benton Central, Central Catholic, Faith Christian and McCutcheon high schools. The cards are original designs created by Benton Central student Caleb Owens, Central Catholic student Nathan Budny, Faith Christian student Theodora Yu and McCutcheon student Travis Baugh for a high-school debit card design contest hosted by Purdue Federal. Customers can now switch to a new card design at no charge.

TSYS Appoints New General Manager

David Duncan has been appointed GM, TSYS Brazil. A 14-year veteran of TSYS, Duncan most recently served a dual role as Group Executive for China and Southeast Asia while also supporting the corporate strategy group in mergers and acquisitions. Duncan has spent the majority of his tenure overseas at TSYS’ global offices. When based in Japan, he was instrumental in the acquisition of GP Net, TSYS’ majority-owned joint venture in Japan, in 2000. Beginning in 2001, Duncan directed the company’s efforts in China, overseeing the development of China UnionPay Data Services, Ltd. (CUP Data), a TSYS joint venture, in 2006.
