Eckoh customer service solutions using speech recognition inked new contracts with Orbital Marketing Services Group for the provision of a PCI DSS compliant payment solution to its “Orbital Response” contact center division. The “Orbital Response” division provides outsourced services on behalf of its clients including mail order/home shopping sales, donation processing for charities and membership management schemes; either by telephone, online, email or post. Eckoh’s “EckohPAY” real-time PCI compliant payment solution is set for deployment in September 2011 for Orbital and will allow callers to make card payments conveniently and securely over the phone.

Boku launches direct carrier billing

Boku online mobile payments has launched direct carrier billing with Bouygues Telecom and SFR mobile carriers. This gives the 32 million French customers the ability to pay for digital goods and services using only their existing wireless service account, with the charge appearing on their carrier bill. With this agreement, nearly all mobile users in France will benefit from BOKU direct carrier billing. A direct connection between the French carriers and BOKU provides value-added service to online consumers and merchants, including a secure payment mechanism that is convenient and easy to use, and that provides an alternative payment method for consumers, particularly those with limited access to credit or debit cards.

Ingenico Partners Globus hypermakets for Pilot

Ingenico payment solutions partnered with Globus hypermarkets for the first mobile payment pilot in Czech Republic. The pilot will last six months and involve 400 clients of Telefonica, Citibank and Commercial Bank. Payments with mobile phone by waving them over the terminals do not require a code for amount up to 500 Kc. The payment terminals for this project are all supplied by Ingenico, present in 50.000 point of sale in the Czech Republic. Globus represents 14 hypermarkets across the country and its POS terminals base totals 800.

Bringing to the table more than 10 years’ experience in various finance positions, most recently with Pepsi Bottling as Corporate Controller from 2000-2007 and VP, North America Finance from 2007-2008, Forster will head MasterCard finances. U.S. Bank is making available real-time ATM card and check card alerts to its consumer and business cardholders’ mobile devices and computers. The real-time alerts range from suspicious activity being detected to cash being withdrawn from an ATM and are sent via SMS text message, email or both. Cardholders can select the alerts that will make it easier for them to stay informed and be in better control of their finances. Cardholders may also receive real-time alerts for international transactions, gasoline purchases, ATM withdrawals, declined transactions or for online, mail-order or telephone transactions where the card is not present.

E-Bills Linked to Timely Payments, Reduced Costs

Electronic bills through online banking the internet can lead to enhanced cash flow and reduced customer care costs. Customers who receive electronic bills (e-bills) via a financial institution or the Con Edison website are more likely to make on-time payments, and utilize online self-service rather than costly customer service calls. These findings, according to a Fiserv survey of Con Edison customers, shows customers receiving e-bills via online banking were 22% more likely to make on-time payments and customers receiving e-bills at ConEd.com were 6% more likely to make on-time payments, when compared to paper bill recipients. Banking sites offer due-date reminders which may help customers pay their bills on time. Meanwhile, customers receiving e-bills via online banking were 64% less likely to call live customer service per month and customers receiving e-bills at ConEd.com were 39 percent less likely to call, when compared to paper bill recipients.
