ACS Expands Alabama Electronic Card Use

ACS, A Xerox Company, has signed a five-year, $51 million contract to administer the Alabama’s existing card programs and provide a new system for distributing child support payments via a reloadable MasterCard debit card. The card is accepted at thousands of retailers and ATMs. ACS will also support the use of debit cards and electronic benefits transfer (EBT) cards for other state programs including Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (previously known as the Food Stamp Program), and the Alabama Medicaid Agency’s Non-Emergency Transportation Program.

Euronet closes on senior secured credit facility

Euronet Worldwide global electronic payments provider and distributor closed an amended and expanded five-year, $355 million senior secured credit facility with a syndicate of financial institutions. The facility consists of a $275 million revolving line of credit and an $80 million term loan and replaces a $100 million revolving line of credit and $126 million term loan maturing April 2012 and April 2014, respectively. Euronet Worldwide offers ATM, POS and card outsourcing services, card issuing and merchant acquiring services, and consumer money transfer and bill payment services, among other services to financial institutions, retailers, service providers and individual consumers.

Dollar Financial Corp Changes Name

Dollar Financial, serving primarily unbanked and under-banked consumers, changed its legal name to DFC Global Corp. A new logo accompanies the change. The Company will continue to trade on the NASDAQ stock exchange under its current ticker symbol “DLLR”. Eckoh customer service solutions using speech recognition inked new contracts with Orbital Marketing Services Group for the provision of a PCI DSS compliant payment solution to its “Orbital Response” contact center division. The “Orbital Response” division provides outsourced services on behalf of its clients including mail order/home shopping sales, donation processing for charities and membership management schemes; either by telephone, online, email or post. Eckoh’s “EckohPAY” real-time PCI compliant payment solution is set for deployment in September 2011 for Orbital and will allow callers to make card payments conveniently and securely over the phone.

Boku launches direct carrier billing

Boku online mobile payments has launched direct carrier billing with Bouygues Telecom and SFR mobile carriers. This gives the 32 million French customers the ability to pay for digital goods and services using only their existing wireless service account, with the charge appearing on their carrier bill. With this agreement, nearly all mobile users in France will benefit from BOKU direct carrier billing. A direct connection between the French carriers and BOKU provides value-added service to online consumers and merchants, including a secure payment mechanism that is convenient and easy to use, and that provides an alternative payment method for consumers, particularly those with limited access to credit or debit cards.

Players of Zynga’s popular games such as CityVille, FarmVille, Empires & Allies and Zynga Poker will be directed to purchase a Zynga Game Card for virtual goods within most games from one of epay’s vast network of retail and kiosk locations. epay retailers across Europe can now offer consumers an added value with an in-store bonus of a free virtual item with game card redemption. Additionally, through the partnership, retailers will be able to offer customized marketing promotions and discounts online and in-store.

Ingenico Partners Globus hypermakets for Pilot

Ingenico payment solutions partnered with Globus hypermarkets for the first mobile payment pilot in Czech Republic. The pilot will last six months and involve 400 clients of Telefonica, Citibank and Commercial Bank. Payments with mobile phone by waving them over the terminals do not require a code for amount up to 500 Kc. The payment terminals for this project are all supplied by Ingenico, present in 50.000 point of sale in the Czech Republic. Globus represents 14 hypermarkets across the country and its POS terminals base totals 800.

MasterCard Names Corporate Controller, Principal Accounting Officer

Andrea Forster has been appointed MasterCard Corporate Controller and Principal Accounting Officer. Bringing to the table more than 10 years’ experience in various finance positions, most recently with Pepsi Bottling as Corporate Controller from 2000-2007 and VP, North America Finance from 2007-2008, Forster will head MasterCard finances. Prior to Pepsi Bottling Group, Andrea was vice president, Supply Chain Transformation, PepsiCo and she holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Providence College and is a certified public accountant.
