Ground Labs Joins PCI Security Standards Council

Ground Labs security and auditing software solutions for the payment card industry it has joined the PCI Security Standards Council. As a Participating Organization, Ground Labs will work with the Council to evolve the PCI -DSS and other payment card data protection standards. Also, it will now have access to the latest payment card security standards from the Council, be able to provide feedback on the standards, become part of a growing community that now includes more than 600 organizations and can make its voice heard in protection against data criminals.

MoneyGram & Visa Launch Cash-to-Card Program

MoneyGram International money transfer services and Visa have launched the MoneyGram cash-to-Visa account program for remittances from the United States to Mexico. This allows consumers to visit any of the 35,000 MoneyGram locations in the U.S. to send funds directly to eligible Visa accounts in Mexico. Recipients in Mexico receive the funds directly to their Visa credit, debit, or prepaid accounts, giving them convenient access to their funds through Visa’s global network of millions of merchant acceptance locations and ATMs. Transactions are initiated by MoneyGram agents and processed through Visa’s VisaNet secure global network.

CHARGE Anywhere mobile payment solutions has made available its mobile payments platform in Nigeria, subsequent to gorwing consumer-interest in mobile payments through G-PAY Africa. Cubic to Test Open Payments with PATCO

Port Authority Transit Corporation (PATCO) High Speed Line customers will be able to pay transit fares with their credit or debit cards in 2011 thanks to agreements with Cubic Transportation Systems. The PATCO commuter line connects New Jersey Transit and the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority and will implement the Cubic “open payment” technology on the “FREEDOM” card across its 14-mile line between Lindenwold, New Jersey, and Philadelphia, and will simplify how customers pay their fares by eliminating the need to carry a separate transit payment card. This agreement will ultimately reduce the costs associated with managing and distributing fare media and offer travelers a convenient payment method. Eventually, any bank card with a contactless chip will be accepted on the PATCO system.

BMO Bank of Montreal Expands ATM Access

BMO Bank of Montreal has Joined Acxsys Corporation’s International Card ABM Acquiring Service, allowing Unionpay, Diners Club International, Discover Card and PULSE cardholders to withdraw money from its more than 2,000 ATMs across Canada. This ultimately strengthens bank’s relationship with Diners Club International family by accepting the cards of other Diners Club franchises; provides BMO’s customers living in China access to their bank accounts while visiting Canada; and augments BMO’s “Newcomers to Canada” program, to help make newcomers’ transition to Canada smoother.
