Obopay & Star Launch Real Time mTransfer Solution

Obopay mobile money solutions has forged agreements with the STAR Network through which Obopay will incorporate the STAR “Expedited Transfer Service” real-time transfers. Allowing instant tranfers between STAR accounts, the STAR “Expedited Transfer Service” places the demand deposit account at the center of the transaction and offers transaction speeds not possible with Automated Clearing House (ACH) transfers. Chase Image Scanning Speeds Komen Registration

JPMorgan Chase is helping the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Northeast Ohio Affiliate streamline its registration and check collection process at this Saturday’s Race for the Cure with its “Image Deposit Direct” solution. Allowing for quick scanning and deposit of hundreds of checks directly to the Komen bank account, “Image Deposit Direct” has supported these operations for two years. It also allows clients to deposit checks and money orders from their place of business by scanning them into images and transmitting the images to Chase for clearing. Clients can make deposits to their Chase account from any location and import detailed deposit activity reports into their accounts receivable system. Scanned check and remittance information images are stored in Chase’s secure image archive and made available for up to 25 months.

eBay Wins Shareholder Dispute with Craigslist

In Delaware Court of Chancery, eBay has been ruled in favor of regarding a shareholder suit filed against Craigslist and its majority shareholders. Amazon Payments has launched its next generation of “Checkout by Amazon” (CBA), allowing account holders to make purchases on a merchant’s site using their Amazon.com account credentials without leaving said site. This allows them to access their Amazon address book and payment methods directly on a merchant’s site, translating to fewer steps for checkout, thus reducing the potential for shopping cart abandonment for merchants. CBA’s tighter integration with merchant sites also means a substantial reduction in implementation time thanks in part to the mitigation of redirection, in which consumers leave a merchant’s site right after clicking the checkout button. With “Checkout by Amazon,” designed based on feedback from merchants, customers are given the convenience of using their account information with a more streamlined buying experience. GE Capital Retail Consumer Finance has forged a 7-year deal to provide consumer credit card programs for Dick’s Sporting Goods throughout their over 400 US stores. The credit card program includes the private label credit card and the co-branded Dick’s MasterCard program, providing cardholders with security and convenience, as well as special financing promotions on larger purchase exercise equipment and sporting systems. VeriFone Enhances End-to-End Encryption With Acquisition

VeriFone has acquired Semtek encryption, allowing it to integrate the development, sales, implementation and support of end-to-end encryption solutions into the existing VeriFone organization to better fulfill customer needs, increase revenue and enhance support. VeriFone is offering royalty-free software licenses to device manufacturers and payment processors to further spur market adoption and better deliver encryption. VeriFone’s initial investment in Semtek was announced in October 2007 and in April 2008 introduced “VeriShield Protect” end-to-end encryption for payments, which incorporated Semtek technology.
