Cubic Transportation To Design Smart Card Ticketing System

Cubic Transportation Systems has been awarded a $15 million contract to design, deliver
and provide services for a new smart card ticketing and revenue
management system for the South Florida Regional Transportation
Authority (SFRTA), which will be interoperable with Miami-Dade County’s
new EASY CARD system. The SFRTA system will process smart cards and printed tickets and will
encompass 76 ticket vending machines, 85 station validators, six ticket
office machines, and 60 handheld units. Tri-Rail’s transaction monitoring, processing, settlement and reporting
will be handled by the Miami-Dade Transit through the back-office system
of Cubic’s Nextfare open software and hardware platform. Nextfare
integrates a business management system and passenger devices for smart
card issuing, processing and validating. The open design enables
multiple agencies in a region to share resources while keeping all
proprietary information separate and secure, giving agencies a way to
reduce costs.

reports. The global shipment of smart cards is
expected to reach an estimated 5.4 Billion Units by 2009 end and

‘Under Analysis’ following its monthly surveillance review of
U.S. Credit Card asset-backed securities. Five hundred and forty-nine classes of U.S. credit card ABS transactions
were designated with a SMARTView date of Feb. 25, 2010, indicating
performance has been reviewed and a rating action is not anticipated
within the next 30 days. As Fitch receives monthly information on credit card ABS transactions
from trustees and servicers, Fitch analysts run the data through various
internal algorithms which identify classes of a transaction as possible
candidates for upgrade or downgrade. A transaction may also be designated
as ‘Under Analysis’ when a review
is undertaken because of a material event affecting the transaction or
when a regular, more in-depth periodic review is being performed.
