With over $587 billion in financial transactions handled by mobile
financial services around the world by 2011, OnPoint Community Credit
Union has decided to deploy the Tyfone “u4ia” mobile financial services.
Additionally, with over 60% of phones in the US have memory card slots
(close to one billion phones worldwide) as of 2009, the “u4ia” platform
will allow OnPoint to offer its mobile banking strategy with
fully-integrated mobile payments capabilities. The m-baning solution is
looking to leverage Tyfone’s professional services and deploy robust
services and NFC contactless mobile payments. Tyfone’s unique technology
integrates the Secure Element (SE), an NFC contactless chip and antenna
on standard Secure Digital (SD) memory cards, to foster a better
operator. OnPoint Community Credit Union serves over 199,000 members and

DELINQUENCY

Credit card delinquency (180 days+) rose 30 basis points in the second quarter and is now 70 basis points above year ago levels. Overall credit card delinquency now stands at 5.77 billion yuan or more than double the year ago figure. According to the People’s Bank of China credit card debts overdue by six months or more accounted for 3.1% of
the total outstanding credit card debt at the end of June. In the first quarter this year, credit card debt at least six months overdue rose 133% from a year earlier to 4.97 billion yuan. China’s banks had issued 162.6 million credit cards as of mid-year, up 33% from a year earlier.

Lecere Board Adds a New Director

OR-based POS software provider Lecere has added Roger Williams,
previously with Bob Evans, to the Board of Directors.
Williams began his career in the restaurant industry while a teenager,
starting as an hourly employee with Bob Evans Farms, Inc., which owns
and operates 713 full-service restaurants and produces a complete line
of retail food products. Williams quickly rose through the ranks at the
company, first as manager of a Bob Evans restaurant, turning it into the
chain’s most profitable location. Named a vice-president of the company
at age 27, he was then promoted to head of the Bob Evans Food Products
business and then to president of the Restaurant Division of Bob Evans
Farms, Inc., retiring from the $1.75 billion company in February 2009.

Business Travel vs Profits is 15 to 1

According to a study by IHS Global Insight, businesses can realize more than $15
in profits for every $1 spent on business travel. The research shows
that companies are potentially losing out on nearly $200 billion in 2009
in additional gross profits because they are not optimizing their
investments in strategic business travel.
The report, “Can We Afford Not to Invest in Business Travel?,” published today expands upon findings
previewed last month at the NBTA International Convention & Exposition
and is part of a comprehensive business travel research initiative. The
project also includes elements examining the size and scope of the
global business travel industry and the industry’s economic impact
completed in partnership with Egencia™, the corporate travel arm of
Expedia Inc. The IHS Global Insight study was conducted on behalf of the National

First Data Chairman and CEO Michael Capellas is the recipient of the “2009 Secretary
