CNOOC offshore oil and gas producer has signed agreements with Wincor
Nixdorf. These agreements stipulate the installation of Wincor Nixdorf
“Beetle iSprint” POS and “i-SERVICE STATION” hardware and software on
the NAMOS software platform. Impacting over 500 CNOOC service stations
across the country, the agreements ensure the company build its
expanding service station network in conjunction with car
ownership-growth across China. Optimizing processes and driving new
revenue streams, the “i-SERVICE STATION” uses “NAMOS compact,” “NAMOS
retail” and “NAMOS paylane OPT” solutions to manage the entire service
station operation from a central POS system on a common software platform.

U.S. Bank Tests Unembossed/payWave Debit Card

U.S. Bank has become the first U.S. card issuer to add “Visa payWave” technology to an unembossed debit card that is issued instantly to an account holder upon opening an account. The new card is being tested at select U.S. Bank branches in Denver and Salt Lake City. Under the program, the permanent debit card can be issued in the branch at the time the customer opens a checking account and the unembossed personalization provides greater security and customer satisfaction and “payWave” speeds up the payment process. Dynamic Card Solutions is providing the software and hardware necessary to personalize and issue the debit cards instantly at the branches.

Prepaid card product provider FSV Payment Systems has appointed James “Jim” Grabow, previously with Walmart, to Chief Retail Partners Executive.
Grabow is responsible for leading the development and delivery of prepaid card
programs for FSV’s financial services partners. Grabow joins FSV after several years in Walmart’s Card Products
division, where he served as Senior Director and was responsible for
strategic leadership of the Walmart MoneyCard Prepaid Visa® and Visa
Gift Card programs. Grabow holds an MBA from Colorado State University
and an undergraduate degree in Aerospace Engineering with a minor in
Business from Metropolitan State College in Denver, Colorado.

Metatron to Acquire Just Data IPSP

Metatron has entered into a Letter of Intent (LOI) with the shareholders
of DE-based Just Data Internet Payment Service Provider (IPSP) to
acquire 100% of its outstanding common stock. This will result in Just

A new trio of upscale co-branded air mileage reward cards has taken off. Chase and United Airlines launched the new “Mileage Plus” cards that offer specific perks for big annual fees. The new “United Mileage Plus Select Visa Card” carries a $130 annual fee, the “United Mileage Plus Access Visa Card” has a $275 annual fee and the “United Mileage Plus Club Visa Card” carries an annual fee of $375. The “Plus Club Visa” includes an annual “Red Carpet Club” membership and earns up to 10,000 miles per year toward “elite” status, two miles for every one dollar spent with United and one mile for every one dollar spent on all other purchases, with no cap. FDC and TNB Renewal Their Processing Contract

TNB Card Services has renewed 16-year old agreements stipulating First
Data provide its credit and debit card processing services through at
least 2014. TNB offers payment card processing to credit unions across
the U.S. These services offer credit union clients payment card
processing, ATM terminal driving, and enriched card products that
provide extra benefits, features and rewards. TNB also offers portfolio
consulting, risk-based pricing tools and powerful fraud detection
systems while First Data provides remittance processing services to its
clients. TX-based TNB Card Services, owned and directed by credit unions
since 1976, serves more than 550 financial institutions of all sizes and
manages a total of more than 2 million cards.

Purchase transactions on MasterCards in Europe rose 7.2% in the second quarter to 1.68 billion. Gross dollar volume rose 2.1% while purchase dollar volume increased 3.0% in the quarter. In the quarter, MasterCard closed a number of significant business agreements across the region. In Turkey, Akbank launched “Carrefour Axess,” a co-branding partnership with Europe’s biggest retailer. In Italy, a new partnership with BankAmericard, the acquiring division of Deutsche Bank and Autostrade per Italia, the leading Italian highways company was started.
In April, Russia reached a significant milestone with over a million premium cards in circulation in the country. In Spain Santander Private Banking introduced the “Unlimited” card program. In Turkey Garanti relaunched its Turkish Airlines exclusive air miles credit card program “Shop&Miles” with MasterCard and also added “PayPass” to the product.
As of June 30th, 196 million MasterCard cards (excluding Maestro and Cirrus) had been issued by MasterCard customer financial institutions across Europe, up 3.8 % compared to the same quarter in 2008.
