TNS Third Quarter Net Income Soars

Transaction communications specialist TNS reported total revenue for
the third quarter of $88.6 million, an increase of 4.8% from 3Q/07. Net
income was $1.9 million for the quarter, compared to $0.4 million in the
year ago quarter. Revenue from the Financial Services Division increased
13.0% to $11.7 million. Revenue from the International Services Division
increased 10.0% to $41.7 million. Revenue from the Telecommunication
Services Division increased 6.6% to $16.5 million.
Revenue from the POS Division decreased 9.9% to $18.7 million on 1.3
billion transactions. The decrease in POS division revenue was primarily
attributable to a decrease of 11.8% in transaction volumes which mainly
resulted from a large customer moving traffic off the TNS network in the
fourth quarter last year, and to a lesser extent from the consolidation
of Alliance Data Systems’ network services business into Heartland
Payments and a slight weakening in overall U.S. transaction patterns in
September. For complete details on TNS’ third quarter performance visit
