Revolution Releases an AOL Plug-In

FL-based Revolution Money has announced the availability of its
“MoneyExchange” plug-in for AOL’s AIM instant message service to send
and receive money. AIM users with “MoneyExchange” accounts can now send
and request money through the AIM Buddy List feature for free.
MoneyExchange accounts are issued by First Bank & Trust, Brookings, S.D.
and part of the Fishback Financial Corporation. Revolution Money was
created to deliver significant value to both
consumers and merchants through two products, “RevolutionCard” and
“Revolution MoneyExchange”. The RevolutionCard eliminates costly
interchange fees for merchants while simultaneously providing consumers
with enhanced PIN- based security, identity protection and numerous
merchant discounts and incentives.

ANZ STADIUM VISA PAYWAVE

ANZ has signed a five-year processing agreement with Yalamanchili
International for the provision of prepaid services in the Asia Pacific
region, the first of which is the “ANZ Stadium Visa payWave card.” The
contactless prepaid card is reloadable and will be launched at ANZ
Stadium in Sydney for the Bledisloe Cup on 26 July, 2008, the first of
many prepaid programs to be launched by ANZ on the Yalamanchili prepaid
processing platform.

Darrell MacMullin has been promoted to Canadian Country Manager with
PayPal responsible for the organization’s operations throughout the
country. His responsibilities will include marketing, communications,
finance, product management, business analytics, and customers support
throughout the country. This succeeds MacMullin’s role as the head of
merchant services, to which he was appointed in 2007, the position as
the director of marketing with the company, to which he was appointed in

7-Eleven has introduced its “7-Connect” prepaid wireless program in 400
7-Eleven stores across Singapore. With this, 7-Eleven becomes the
first retailer to offer a pre-paid plan with free nights and weekends,
debuting a company-owned private-brand wireless program in Asia for a
retail cost of $30 per month. “7-Connect” was developed by Ztar Mobile,
using the 3G network services of Singapore’s M1 mobile service
providers, and offers free local voice calls on nights and weekends,
rates as low as 8 cents per minute, 5-cent local two-way text messaging,
15-cent global two-way text messaging, free caller ID, voice mail,
call-waiting and card top-ups for as low as $18 at countrywide 7-Eleven
locations.

Interac Certifies Hypercom’s Artema Modular

Hypercom’s “Artema Modular” unattended payment terminal with MSC’s PIN
Pad API has received “Chip 2.0 PED Device Certification” from the
Canada’s Interac Association for use within the Interac Direct Payment
(IDP) network. The payment terminal implements a multi-layered security
system to protect data throughout the transaction, a secure, metal
keypad and card reader bezel that uses a motorized or manual card
reader. This certification allows integrators to use “Artema Modular”
securely in vending machines, ticketing machines, multi-media kiosks and
is in addition to other certifications provided the device such as PCI

PAYZONE BILL PAYMENT

Payzone payments has simplified its bill and utility payment structure
to improve its commission system in response to retailer demand for
improved remuneration on small transactions. Replacing the confusing
percentage of value capped process, the new system will be introduced on
August 1st, 2008 to provide retailers a simplified flat fee, a
guaranteed minimum of 5p on every transaction irrespective of the
consumer payment value, a three click rate for bar-coded bill payments
and prepaid utilities. Together with United Utilities and Anglian Water
bill payments, Payzone will provide over 650 housing associations with
the service, has operations in 21 countries across Europe, processes

American Express reports that gross dollar volume on its international cards rose 26% and its international cardbase expanded 17% during the second quarter, compared to the year ago quarter. International Card & Global Commercial Services reported second quarter net income of $115 million, down 2% from a year ago. International Card Services revenues net of interest expense increased 20% to $1.3 billion, reflecting higher cardholder spending and borrowing. Total expenses increased 26% including marketing, promotion, rewards and cardholders services expenses increased 38% reflecting significantly increased marketing and promotion expenses and higher volume related rewards costs. Human resources and other operating expenses increased 19% from year-ago levels due to increased employee levels and higher professional services costs. Provisions for losses rose to $242 million, from $211 million a year ago reflecting growth in the loan portfolio and business volumes.
