AIRCHARGE Offers RIM Bluetooth Card Swipe

MA-based Pipeline Data’s AIRCHARGE subsidiary has released its first “Bluetooth” card swipe and printer solution for Research In Motion’s “BlackBerry” smartphones. The AIRCHARGE payment processing software can be loaded onto the customer’s BlackBerry smartphone over-the-air (OTA) and is compatible with virtually any merchant processing account. AIRCHARGE credit card payment solutions are used by merchants to accept payments in many types of mobile environments or any situation where access to standard phone lines is limited, expensive, not convenient or unavailable.

Memento Hires Two Card Industry Veterans

MA-based Memento has hired Shirley Inscoe of Wachovia and Mike Mulholand of Metavante for new senior positions. Inscoe held a series of increasingly responsible positions in risk management, regulatory compliance, and loss reduction initiatives while at Wachovia and recently served as Chair of the BITS Fraud Reduction Steering Committee. At Metavante, Mulholand worked on a variety of fraud solutions including deposit, check, internal fraud, and anti-money laundering. Prior to Metavante, Mulholand worked at National City Corporation. He is a member of the BITS ACH Risk Workgroup, the Sante Fe Group Vendor Council, Infragard, the FSTC Better Collaboration Tools and Near Real-time Sharing of Information project. Mulholand has also co-authored a number of industry whitepapers on internal and ACH fraud and has been a keynote speaker on these topics at major industry events.

AVENUE has chosen to implement ACI’s On Demand solution for its
switching and settlement of electronic card payments. The solution will
address the company’s transaction processing and in-house switching
at its 480 stores, providing settlement information to card issuers.

Guaranty Bank Expands its PULSE Debit Deal

WI-based Guaranty Bank has extended its participation in the PULSE ATM/debit network through an exclusive, long-term participation agreement with PULSE. Under terms of the new agreement, Guaranty Bank will utilize PULSE exclusively for PIN debit transactions at the point of sale. The bank also uses PULSE for ATM transactions and gateway services. Guaranty operates more than 175 branches in Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota and Georgia, and has more than 300 ATMs. The bank has been a PULSE participant since 1996.

IPG-7010 DIAL-TO-IP

Alphyra UK payment processor has announced its decision to implement
Systech’s “IPG-7010 dial-to-IP” broadband terminal adapter. With this
device, existing Alphyra dial-based terminals will be allowed to
communicate and process transactions over a broadband connection,
compromising the need for phone lines. This will save the company capital
on terminal upgrades and phone line service costs. Moreover, the
“IPG-7010 dial-to-IP” converts the dial port on the terminal to IP,
providing
only encrypted information on the broadband connection. Systech provides
over 350,000 networking devices and server/Internet payment solutions
for electronic transactions.

TransUnion Introduces Collection Triggers

TransUnion has launched a new solution to assist medium-size debt buyers and agencies with collecting on their debts arising from credit transactions. Using a predefined set of highly predictive triggers tailored for collections, the “Triggers for Collections” solution continually monitors consumer data, alerting users to key changes in contact and credit information as soon as the next day. Some of the key triggers include new mortgage accounts, new credit card accounts and any address changes. Additionally, it helps reprioritize accounts to increase the return on the dollar invested from these collection activities.

AMEX AIR MILES CARD

Amex Bank of Canada and the “AIR MILES Reward Program” have launched the “AmEx AIR MILES Platinum” card. Under the new program,
“AIR MILES” cardholders earn one “AIR MILES” reward mile for every $10 in purchases charged to the card, plus they can earn one “AIR MILES” reward mile for every $15 in purchases charged to the card everywhere else. The annual fee for the new card is $50. New cardholders will receive 250 bonus reward miles the first time they use the card. Existing “American Express AIR MILES” cardholders can choose to upgrade to the “Platinum” card for a 250 reward miles reward. The new “AmEx AIR MILES Platinum” card will be supported with an extensive national marketing campaign, including television and print advertisements, direct mail and online media.

RevolutionCard Links to the Jeanie Network

FL-based Revolution Money, founded by former AOL CEO Steve Case, has landed its first processor relationship. The “RevolutionCard” will now be accepted by Fifth Third Processing Solutions’ merchant customers across the USA, via its “Jeanie” network. Under the agreement, Fifth Third Processing Solutions will provide gateway processing services that will enable other merchants and ATM processors to connect to the new product. “RevolutionCard” is the first PIN-based credit card. Launched last year, Revolution Money was created to provide an interchange-free payment platform through two products, “RevolutionCard” and “Revolution MoneyExchange.”

Equifax Revenues Climb 26% in 4Q/07

Atlanta-based Equifax posted fourth quarter revenues of $491 million, a gain of 26% year-on-year. Online Consumer Information Solutions revenue was $151 million, up 2%; Mortgage Reporting Solutions revenue was $13 million, down 15%; Credit Marketing Services revenue was down 16% to $37 million; and Direct Marketing Services declined 3% to $28 million. North America Personal Solutions revenue rose to $38 million, a 21% increase from 4Q/06. Equifax expects consolidated annual revenue growth to be between 9% and 12%. SHAZAM Network Expands GoldenGate Usage

The SHAZAM network, which operates the seventh largest U.S. EFT network, has expanded its use of GoldenGate solutions through an enterprise license agreement. SHAZAM says its choice of GoldenGate was the solutions’ support for heterogeneous databases. SHAZAM’s environment requires capturing, transforming and moving large volumes of data in real-time between IBM DB2, Oracle, HP NonStop, and Microsoft SQL, as well as making fresh data available to business intelligence tools. The SHAZAM network processes millions of transactions per day, and supports more than 10,000 merchants in 42 states and nearly 1,600 financial institutions in 30 states.
