A new survey reveals that VISA scored a 7.7 in how they treat their online customers compared to an overall industry average of 5.7. The Customer Respect Group says its overall score was in line with the overall cross-industry average of all sites evaluated in 2006 to date. However, the score was marginally higher than that achieved six months ago. Financial services firms demonstrated a strong improvement in online communications, but a slight drop in site usability, especially for users with visual impairments and other disabilities.Details
JWARE Technologies has run a series of successful acceptance, functional and performance tests on the “Stratus ftServer Fault Tolerant Linux Server.” These tests were carried out to demonstrate the portability of the “JWARE Payment Suite” and the results demonstrate complete interoperability. The entire “JWARE Payment Suite” including POS and ATM drivers was installed on the “Stratus ftServer” in less than an hour without a single error. A traffic simulator generated a transaction flow of fifty transactions per second which the “JWARE Payment Suite” was able to process in a timely fashion without any functional issues. Higher transaction volumes can easily be managed by choosing better optimized Stratus servers from the “ftServer Linux Series” and by optimizing the database configuration.Details
INSIDE Contactless has selected the “PicoRead” reader chip for integration into its “i3070” contactless PIN Pad. “PicoRead” is a 13.56Mhz RF interface which supports all major protocols within the industry – “ISO 14443 A/B,” “FeliCa” and “ISO 15693” protocols.
With support for contactless interaction up to 10cm, “PicoRead” has
outstanding performance characteristics and is also a low-power device,

ANZ has partnered with Serverside to create online customized VISA
cards. Since October 9th, new and existing holders of “ANZ First VISA”
or “ANZ Access” cards have been able to customize their card plastic
with a photo of their own, or an image chosen from a creative
collection of online gallery images. Gallery categories include pictures
of animals, sports, Australian heritage, cartoon characters and action
superheroes. For cardholders, the design process is straightforward. No
software downloads are needed and the entire process can be completed in
seconds. Customers simply design their own cards online using intuitive
editing tools within a branded section of ANZ’s Web site. Serverside

Las Vegas-based Cash Systems announced the Agua Caliente Casino and The Spa Resort Casino will be the first casino properties in Southern California to install Cash Systems’ “cashclub” product. The cashclub installation is part of an enhanced contract renewal with the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians of Southern California. The new “i6780” meets California Legislation and proposed ECBS guidelines for PIN entry devices for use by the visually impaired. Founder Dan Smith is stepping down as CEO. During DeMarse’s tenure at Bankrate, she quintupled unique visitors and page views; increased revenue 560%; significantly expanded operating margins to 32%; and delivered 11 quarters of consecutive EPS. Her accomplishments led to a market cap increase from $12 million at her hiring to $300 million, representing an increase in stock price of 1200% in three years. SpareBank 1 has signed a seven-year strategic partnership agreement with EnterCard Norge, a subsidiary of EnterCard International, the top Nordic credit-card issuer. The agreement involves developing new
concepts and issuing credit cards for the independent banks within the
SpareBank 1 Group, with the ambition of becoming a major player in the
Norwegian credit-card market. When EnterCard International was founded more than a year ago by the two owners, Barclays Bank and Swedbank, the Norwegian company gained market leading credit-card expertise derived from Barclaycard, Europe’s leading credit- card issuer. Earlier this year EnterCard signed new partnership agreements with LO in Norway and FDB/Coop in Denmark. In December last year, EnterCard signed an agreement with Coop in Norway.
NY-based Planet Payment has acquired the credit card processing platform and related Bermuda assets of TransWorld Payment Solutions. As a result of the acquisition, Planet Payment’s processing agreement with TransWorld will be terminated, thus saving the substantial processing fees otherwise payable by Planet Payment. Under the new agreement, Planet Payment will assume the running costs of the processing platform. TransWorld will continue to operate the assets during a transitional period, to allow Planet Payment to secure the necessary approvals and regulatory consents from third parties, including Visa and MasterCard. Planet Payment is a multi-currency payment and data processor, enabling processors, acquiring banks and their merchants to accept, process and reconcile credit card transactions in multiple currencies, allowing cardholders to view prices and settle transactions in their native currency.Details
