Las Vegas-based Cash Systems announced the Agua Caliente Casino and The Spa Resort Casino will be the first casino properties in Southern California to install Cash Systems’ “cashclub” product. The cashclub installation is part of an enhanced contract renewal with the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians of Southern California. Cash Systems previously provided Agua Caliente Casino, Rancho Mirage and Spa Resort Casino, Palm Springs with credit and debit card cash advance services and will now provide a complete line of cash access services including all-in-1 and check cashing. Cash Systems, Inc., located in Las Vegas, with additional offices in San Diego and Minneapolis, is a provider of cash-access and related services to the retail and gaming industries.

The new “P4100 PIN Pad” also offers a WiFi option. Ingenico has introduced the first color touch screen payment terminal with integrated tactile keypad to meet requirements for the visually impaired. The new “i6780” meets California Legislation and proposed ECBS guidelines for PIN entry devices for use by the visually impaired. The “i6780” enables retailers to reduce their cost of payment with online debit while streamlining credit card payment and contract finalization with electronic signature capture. With a TFT color screen, vivid and bright colors are easily produced to enhance the interaction with customers. Additional features of the i6780 are its tempered glass capacitive screen to reduce scratches and damage, electronic pen for signature accuracy and EMV levels I and II approved smart card capabilities.

TX-based Austin Ventures announced the recapitalization of CreditCards.com and hiring of a new CEO. Elisabeth DeMarse, former CEO of Bankrate, was named the Company’s top executive. Founder Dan Smith is stepping down as CEO. During DeMarse’s tenure at Bankrate, she quintupled unique visitors and page views; increased revenue 560%; significantly expanded operating margins to 32%; and delivered 11 quarters of consecutive EPS. Her accomplishments led to a market cap increase from $12 million at her hiring to $300 million, representing an increase in stock price of 1200% in three years. CreditCards.com was founded in 2003.

SpareBank 1 Inks a Deal with EnterCard Norge

SpareBank 1 has signed a seven-year strategic partnership agreement with EnterCard Norge, a subsidiary of EnterCard International, the top Nordic credit-card issuer. The agreement involves developing new
concepts and issuing credit cards for the independent banks within the
SpareBank 1 Group, with the ambition of becoming a major player in the
Norwegian credit-card market. When EnterCard International was founded more than a year ago by the two owners, Barclays Bank and Swedbank, the Norwegian company gained market leading credit-card expertise derived from Barclaycard, Europe’s leading credit- card issuer. Earlier this year EnterCard signed new partnership agreements with LO in Norway and FDB/Coop in Denmark. In December last year, EnterCard signed an agreement with Coop in Norway.

Planet Payment Acquires a Card Platform

NY-based Planet Payment has acquired the credit card processing platform and related Bermuda assets of TransWorld Payment Solutions. As a result of the acquisition, Planet Payment’s processing agreement with TransWorld will be terminated, thus saving the substantial processing fees otherwise payable by Planet Payment. Under the new agreement, Planet Payment will assume the running costs of the processing platform. TransWorld will continue to operate the assets during a transitional period, to allow Planet Payment to secure the necessary approvals and regulatory consents from third parties, including Visa and MasterCard. Planet Payment is a multi-currency payment and data processor, enabling processors, acquiring banks and their merchants to accept, process and reconcile credit card transactions in multiple currencies, allowing cardholders to view prices and settle transactions in their native currency.

FDC International Inks a Deal with Societe Generale

First Data International has signed an agreement with Societe Generale Consumer Finance to provide card processing services to the bank’s international consumer finance division. Societe Generale Consumer Finance has selected FDI as its partner to roll-out a comprehensive suite of new card and loan products to consumers across Europe, the Middle East and Africa over the next 12-to-18 months.
Under the terms of the agreement, FDI will provide Societe Generale Consumer Finance credit card management and transaction processing together with a wide-range of back-office and value-added services. First Data’s Central European regional hub based in Bratislava, Slovakia, will provide the core processing.
