Atlanta-based RBS Lynk has signed Advanced Hospitality Systems as the newest member of the “OneLynk Alliance”. AHS provides profit building solutions to numerous restaurants and clubs and is a leading provider of Radiant Systems’ Aloha restaurant POS solutions. RBS Lynk’s electronic payment processing integrates with Aloha software to provide transaction processing, while eliminating the expense of separate restaurant management equipment and payment terminals. RBS Lynk is a single-source provider of electronic payment processing services.

HSBC Implements Fair Isaac Fraud Protector

HSBC Holdings has implemented Fair Isaac’s “Fraud Predictor with Merchant
Profiles.” The fraud detection solution will provide HSBC with advanced
capabilities for cutting fraud losses and protecting credit and debit
cardholders from fraudulent transactions. When an authorization request is
received, the “Fraud Predictor” model calculates a fraud score based on the
transaction data at the cardholder level as well as the transaction and fraud
history at the merchant level. HSBC Holdings has assets of US$1,467 billion at
30 June 2005. Fair Isaac Corporation provides predictive modeling, decision
analysis, intelligence management, decision management systems and consulting
services. The HSBC Group serves over 110 million customers in 77 countries.

PayPass Enters a Vending Partnership

MasterCard and PA-based USA Technologies have teamed to bring “PayPass” contactless payment technology to vending machines. USTT offers the patented “e-Port” payment terminal which enables existing cash-only vending machines to accept payment cards as well as contactless cards and fobs. Following successful trials conducted at MasterCard’s corporate facilities, more than 500 vending machines throughout New York City and Atlanta will now be equipped to accept “MasterCard PayPass.” The global vending industry produces an estimated $40 billion in annual revenues.

NCR ATM Revenues Rise 3% in Q3

NCR reported that third quarter revenue for its ATM business was $349 million, up 3% from a very robust year-ago quarter. Operating income was down slightly to $60 million due to competitive pricing pressure. The Retail Store Automation unit generated $209 million of revenue, a 4% decline over 3Q/04. Overall, NCR reported third quarter net income of $222 million, which included $137 million from a favorable tax settlement. During the third quarter, the board of directors named Bill Nuti to the posts of president and CEO. Also, NCR launched “ImageMark ATM Deposit,” which combines NCR’s “No Envelope” deposit technology with “ImageMark NCompass” and “ImageMark Passport,” for community banks, thrifts and credit unions. Advanta Biz Card Profits Rise 36%

Advanta posted a 36% increase in net income for its business cards during the third quarter to $16.2 million, compared to the year-ago period. Managed outstandings ended the quarter at approximately $3.60 billion, a 12.5% gain over September 30, 2004. During the third quarter Advanta opened 57,974 business card accounts and ended the quarter with 846,471 gross accounts. About 71% of the accounts were active. Advanta noted that its 2005 new customers had an average origination FICO of 733. Transaction volume increased 18% to $2.5 billion during the third quarter. There was a 133 basis point decline in net principal charge-offs on average managed receivables to 5.15% on an annualized basis, as compared to 6.48% for 3Q/04. Over 30 day delinquencies on managed receivables declined 87 basis points to 3.55% and over 90 day delinquencies on managed receivables decreased 52 basis points to 1.61%, each as compared to third quarter of last year. AmEx Bank Renews Contract for AIR MILES

Amex Bank of Canada has renewed a long term contract with Alliance Data
Systems to continue to market and service the “AIR MILES Reward
Program”. The “AIR MILES Reward Program” is Canada’s premier coalition
loyalty program. More than 70% of Canadian households,
representing more than 15.4 million Canadians, actively collect “AIR
MILES” reward miles at more than 100 leading brand-name sponsors
representing over 14,000 retail and service locations across Canada.
Miles can be redeemed for more than 800 different rewards, such as movie
passes, family attractions, CDs and DVDs, electronic merchandise, sports
and recreation and travel.

The National Council of Teachers of English and U.S. Bank have partnered to launch the “English VISA Platinum” affinity card. The card generates support for the organization each time a new card is activated and repeatedly thereafter each time the card is used. Axalto Financial Card Sales Up 22%

Smart card specialist Axalto posted third quarter revenue of $227 million, compared to $228 million for 3Q/04 and $261 million in the prior quarter. The cards segment revenue amounted to $207 million compared to $212 million in year-ago quarter and $243 million in the second quarter of this year. During the third quarter, Axalto delivered more than 100 million microprocessor cards. In financial cards, Axalto’s revenue rose 22% year-over-year to $49 million with about 20 million cards delivered. Axalto says the growth was driven by the EMV migration in Europe, Latin America and Asia as well as from initial large-scale Paypass contactless cards deployments in North America. Hypercom Names a Chief Scientist

Hypercom has named Jonatan Schmidt, formerly with SiVault Systems, to the newly created position of Chief Scientist and Technology Officer. He has 16 years of experience in product and services development in point-of-sale technology, including bank card, transaction processing, and POS and ATM equipment and services. Most recently, as Chief Strategy Officer and later Chief Technology Officer at SiVault Systems, he designed and implemented transaction service architecture that enabled signature authentication and electronic check verification at merchant countertops. Schmidt holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Financial Systems from Moscow University. Hypercom provides card payment terminal, network access device, server and transaction networking solutions.

Integrated Releases ATM Incident Manager

Integrated Research has introduced “PROGNOSIS ATM Incident Manager”,
designed to optimize the availability of automated teller machines and
simplify problem management. “PROGNOSIS ATM Incident Manager” includes
automated two-way email communication with service personnel, which allows
most ATM incidents to be dealt with remotely behind the scenes. ATM

3MM blink Cards for the Mid-Atlantic

Chase says it will issue about three million “blink” contactless credit cards throughout the New York City and Philadelphia tri-state areas, starting today. In the greater NYC tri-state area, including NJ and CT, Chase issue more than two million “blink” cards to its portfolios for the Continental, Sony, United Airlines, Universal’s King Kong and Universal cards. There are now about 1,800 merchant locations in 481 cities and 11 counties across New York, New Jersey and Connecticut that are contactless-enabled. In the greater Philadelphia tri-state area, which includes Southern NJ and DE, Chase will issue approximately 900,000 “blink” cards. Approximately 1,200 storefronts in NJ, DE, and PA will be “blink”-enabled. In May, Chase became the first bank to launch a large-scale market-by-market roll out of contactless credit cards.
