The Toronto Parking Association said this morning that its deployment of 1,300 of SchlumbergerSema’s Web-based Pay & Display terminals has increased the city’s parking revenue by 60% since their installation in early 1999. The new web-based multi-space parking solution was developed, manufactured, and continues to be maintained with a centralized data management system as a joint effort between SchlumbergerSema and Precise ParkLink. The new centralized data management system requires no capital investment by new parking system customers, as the control server is managed centrally and can be accessed by multiple operators. SchlumbergerSema systems control more than two million parking spaces in more than 3,000 cities and 40 countries. The company currently has an installed base of 2,800 units controlling over 100,000 spaces in cities across the US and Canada.Details

Certegy has signed AMP Bank Limited to a long-term contract to process AMP’s Australia and New Zealand credit card portfolios. The AMP Credit Card is an American Express Card product that Certegy will service at its Melbourne processing center. With the addition of AMP, Certegy will be processing more than 4 million cards at its Australian center. Certegy will process AMP on its BASE2000 card processing platform. The BASE2000 platform, entirely developed by and proprietary to Certegy, was introduced as the industry’s first third-party global card processing platform that supports multi-national card issuers with portfolios in multiple languages and multiple currencies across multiple continents. Travelers Express/MoneyGram has hired David Parrin, formerly of U.S. Bancorp, as its new CFO effective June 10th. Parrin, former executive vice president and chief financial officer at RBC Dain Rauscher in Minneapolis, left the investment firm this spring after its sale to Royal Bank of Canada. Prior to that, he was a senior vice president and corporate controller at U.S. Bancorp. He also spent nearly 20 years with the accounting firm Ernst & Young and was an audit partner when he left that firm in 1994.Details
First Data’s Paymap subsidiary has completed its rollout of the Sanchez processing platform. Sanchez is supplying Paymap with computer operations services and technology support through its outsourcing unit, Sanchez Data Systems Inc.
