Wallaby Financial mobile and web-based credit card optimization solutions launched Wallaby for Android Wear. The product introduction further extends Wallaby’s position as the leading provider of financial services apps for wearable devices, smartphones and web. The broad market appeal of Wallaby’s credit card optimization solutions has carried over to a broad range of form factors and feature sets including Google Glass, Pebble, and Samsung devices. Android Wear offers a number of features that enhance the inherent usability of Wallaby’s credit card intelligence and recommendations. Wallaby for Android Wear allows users to activate key commands by voice in addition to other user input techniques. The app also enables users to review their current credit utilization and available credit balances directly on their device.

Kount Announces Payment Processor Fraud Prevention

Fraud and risk management technology leader Kount announced the launch of Kount Central to combat fraud at the payment processor level. Kount Central is designed to integrate with online payment processors such as acquirers, payment service providers, hosted pay pages and payment gateways, enabling each to help all their merchants reduce the negative effects of fraud. As breaches become more widespread, payment processors increasingly face the challenge of providing a trusted, integrated fraud solution to merchants that reduces fraudulent transactions, while mitigating fines and penalties from regulators. As new technologies are rolled out for point-of-sale terminals at brick-and-mortar retailers, it is highly likely that cyber criminals will move online, making the challenge of a fraud-free payment process even more pronounced.

KnCMiner BitCoin Secures $14mm in Funding

We’re pleased to announce the completion of our USD14m Series A investment round. After expanding operations from hardware design into software, app and cloud services, the Series A investment round will enable KnCMiner to accelerate in all areas of business. GP Bullhound, the technology investment bank, acted as the exclusive financial advisor to KnCMiner on this investment round led by Nordic based venture capital fund Creandum. The funding will enable KnCMiner to expand its mining operations and ability to offer services to consumers in relation to the Bitcoin environment. KnCMiner has, since its inception in April 2013, sold Bitcoin mining equipment for over USD70m and the mining operations has generated more than USD40m of revenue. After branching out into software development KnCMiner has released the mobile Bitcoin wallet KnCWallet, and developed a powerful new proprietary cloud mining management/front-end system, from scratch.

Underbanked to get mobile wallet with Mozido

Mozido mobile financial services, through its subsidiary Centralized Strategic Services Ltd (CSS), have partnered to create a mobile wallet, branded JCUES (Jamaica Credit Unions E-payment Services), that extends financial services to Jamaica’s underbanked population. Mozido’s mobile financial services technology enabled JCCUL, which represents 42 credit unions serving over a third of the nation’s consumers, to launch a stored-value account mobile wallet initiative that delivers banking options to Jamaica’s estimated two million underbanked citizens, and also brings mobile payments and loyalty services to thousands of merchants. After a one-year initial phase, the Bank of Jamaica has approved phase two pilot of JCUES, now allowing any Jamaican to sign up, add money, and pay for goods and services without the need for a bank account. Phase two of JCUES doubles the target market base in Jamaica, giving over two-million citizens the opportunity for full control over their finances, many for the first time ever.
