Mocapay Launches API Token Solution

Mocapay merchant-centric and mobile marketing solution provider launched a token solution mobilization platform that mobilizes any third party service POS payment solution, closing the loop for customer transactions within merchants’ POS platform. Consumers may use their mobile device and select a payment method, loyalty card, or coupon and receive a 6-digit single-use perishable Mocapay code that is delivered to their handset. The interaction between the handset and the Mocapay host provides for a secure and fast delivery of a single use token that acts as a stand-in for sensitive account credentials. The new API simplifies integration into the merchant’s POS or third party service or payment provider without making any change to store or back office operations.

US Airways to Accept MasterCard PayPass Cards In-Flight

MasterCard announced US Airways has become the first airline in the world to accept MasterCard PayPass-enabled cards and devices for in-flight purchases. Enabled by GuestLogix, US Airways passengers can now buy food, beverages and other services by simply tapping their MasterCard PayPass-enabled card and devices helping to speed up transaction times and provide increased convenience. This is designed to quicken the time it takes to process card payments in-flight and allows passengers to simply tap their PayPass-enabled MasterCard card or device on a PayPass-accepting reader.

Mastercard Launches Microfinance Business Model

MasterCard payment solutions and technology introduced its business model aimed at microfinance institutions to facilitate the entrance of new players into the financial system for the SME sector. MasterCard is looking to foster financial inclusion through this model and boost the economy of microfinance institutions in the country. Adyen Announces Availability of Chip & PIN mPOS

Adyen global payment announced the European availability of its “Shuttle” payment solution, allowing merchants to accept Chip & PIN payments from a mobile device at the point-of-sale (MPOS). It is fully EMV compliant to provide infrastructure for POS payments, with all three channels directly connected to the Adyen back office, requiring only a single point of administration. Shuttle is a standalone MPOS device that connects to iOS and Android smartphones or tablets wirelessly via a Bluetooth connection. To use, shoppers simply key their pin codes into the device and the transaction is verified offline or online. Shuttle has been developed to bring complete mobility to point-of-sale commerce, accommodating everything from small specialist stores to medium-to-large sized and international businesses, enabling merchants to safely accept Chip & PIN transactions on any credit or debit card.

SIX Implements Clear2Pay Chargeback System

SIX Payment Services (SIX) has selected Clear2Pay’s CBK solution to support its chargeback business and processes on a single standardized platform. The CBK Chargeback system replaces two old systems and will evolve over time to encompass both acquiring and issuing chargebacks for credit and debit cards. The Clear2Pay’s CBK system has so far been implemented for users at two locations in Switzerland and Austria. The new platform will generate added value when it comes to managing and processing dispute resolution for financial institutions, merchants and cardholders.

Ingenico Tests NFC Lunch Vouchers

Edenred, market leader and inventor of the Ticket Restaurant, together with the NFC & Mobile Payment Observatory of the Milan Polytechnic, promoted the testing of Ticket Restaurant Mobile, an application that offers users the chance to pay for meals by using a mobile phone, with no need for paper-based or electronic mediums. The key partners in the project are Research In Motion (RIM), Ingenico Italia electronic payment solutions and Reply, specialized in the design and implementation of solutions based on the new digital media and communication channels. The testing phase involves about 80 users from a renowned campus in Milan, equipped with BlackBerry® Curve™ 9380 smartphones, Over the next six months, they will be able to test the new application with a network of 60 affiliated merchants (cafeterias, restaurants, markets) near the University, fitted with POS Ingenico iCT250 with iST150 contactless reader. They can quickly pay their bill by bringing the handset near the contactless reader installed at the merchant and complete the transaction in less than three seconds.

Better ATM Services Launches ATM-Dispensed Multibrand Prepaid Card

Better ATM Services has begun to issue its “myGIFT” card ATM-issued multibrand prepaid card. The “myGIFT” One Card Many Choices Discover Prepaid Card allows consumers to shop at premier, nationally recognized restaurant and retail stores including Macy’s, Lowe’s, Outback Steakhouse, and Bonefish Grill. Cards are redeemable to buy goods and services at specific merchants that accept Discover cards. The “myGIFT” cards will be available at walk-up Banner Federal Credit Union ATMs at eleven select Banner Health ATM locations. The new ATM-dispensed card is made of a thin, durable material allowing cards to easily pass through an ATMs’ cash mechanisms and works like any other prepaid card.

USA Technologies and Isis Expand mCommerce to Vending Machines

USA Technologies wireless, cashless payment and M2M telemetry solutions for small-ticket, self-serve retailing industries, announced it’s expanding mobile payment acceptance to 7,500 vending machines with its NFC-enabled “ePort” technology and “ePort” Connect service.
