RBS Commissions G&D for iPhone NFC Case

The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) and NatWest have launched TouchPay m-contactless payments service for Apple iPhone 4 and 4S models powered by an NFC-enabled protective cover accessory. Initially available for 1,000 customers who registered to experience the speed and convenience of mobile payments, TouchPay will be made available to all RBS and NatWest customers who have Apple iPhones in the near future. Customers simply attach the cover to their Apple iPhone 4 or iPhone 4s and follow the on-screen instructions to download the TouchPay app from the Apple App Store. Once the activation process is complete, users can use their smartphone for transactions of GBP20 or less at mobile contactless-enabled retail outlets without entering their PIN and can also track their spending through the TouchPay application.

DataCash jointly developed with MasterCard and EPoS provider Zonal and Coherent+ portable ePOS terminals. ING and ABN Amro to issue Contactless MasterCards

ABN AMRO and ING are set to launch ‘contactless’ cards with Maestro PayPass allowing consumers faster and more convenient payment options while shopping, which benefits merchants by reducing checkout time. PayPass users are able to tap their cards against payment terminals allowing payment details to be exchanged safely and effectively within seconds. ABN AMRO and ING have pointed out this is a significant development towards consumers being able to pay with their mobile phones in a similar way.
