Western Union, VigoSM and Orlandi Valuta® services are offered in Mexico through a strategically combined Agent network that include banks, national retail chains and independent locations. Western Union Launches mMoney Transfer Service

Western Union payment services expanded its “Mobile Money Transfer” allowing customers to send remittances to people in El Salvador who subscribe to Tigo Money mobile money service. Senders can send Western Union Money Transfer® transactions directly to receivers who subscribe to Tigo’s mobile money service for receipt on their mobile phones. Alternatively, for even more flexibility, senders can send Western Union Money Transfer transactions and then receivers can direct the funds into their mobile phones by dialing *555# and following the prompts. After receiving the funds, receivers can use them to top up their mobile phones.

Citibank Korea Intros Wheelchair-Friendly ATMs

Citibank Korea rolled-out wheelchair-friendly ATMs, supplied by Chungho ComNet. This after Citibank Korea completed the implementation of voice-guided services and screen-expansion services for the visually impaired across all ATMs in 2010. Citibank Korea has now fully complied with the “CD/ATM Standards for Persons with Disabilities” established by the Bank of Korea’s Committee on Financial Information. Gemalto digital security acquired Ericsson Internet Payment Exchange communications technology and services for undisclosed terms. IPX has developed one of the leading mobile payment and messaging platforms in the world. IPX connects more than 1,000 customers to over 120 Mobile Network Operators (MNOs). IPX also operates payment platforms as a white label service for various operators. Gemalto is also acquiring Ericsson’s Trusted Service Manager (TSM) activity.
