CreditKarma Launches iPhone App

CreditKarma.com consumer credit advocate launched its its “Credit Karma Mobile” free iPhone app. Offering free credit scores and free credit monitoring on-the-go, Credit Karma Mobile users may also register for free credit monitoring and receive notifications when certain events are reported in their credit report. This service is unique to CreditKarma.com and has never been offered before in an app. Credit monitoring services help consumers monitor and identify possible fraud. According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics an estimated 8.6 million households had at least one person in their family who was a victim of identity theft in 2010. It also gives the option for consumers to receive free notifications when certain events are recorded and a “Credit Report Card” to disclose factors influencing the credit score.

Panini Releases Program & solutions to Improve Teller Capture

Panini global payments solution provide launched several initiatives to assist financial institutions with successful implementation of teller image capture (TIC). MasterCard and Sonoma State Support the Performing Arts

MasterCard and Sonoma State University forged a long-term relationship in support of the performing arts in which MasterCard will become the title sponsor of the annual MasterCard Performance Series. It will also support the building of an outdoor pavilion for music and dance at the Green Music Center, adjoining the Joan and Sanford I. Weill Hall. Sonoma State University and MasterCard will also offer a student internship program in the field of entertainment and sponsorship management and offer financial literacy programs and tools for the university’s students.

Cooperative Purchasing Network Awards UMB Bank Contract

UMB Bank been awarded a contract as the select purchasing card provider by The Cooperative Purchasing Network (TCPN) to establishe a national cooperative buying contract that satisfies the needs of participating governmental and non-profit entities for the purchase of Procurement Cards and Related Services with UMB Bank as the issuer. This contract will permit governmental agencies to establish a procurement card program with UMB on an “as needed” basis from a competitively awarded contract to comply with purchasing regulations.

Columbus Community Implements ACH Alert

ACH Alert reached agreements with Columbus Community Bank to provide their customers fraud protection services. Columbus Community Bank aims to implement ACH Alert’s fraud protection services this fall. Processes provided by ACH Alert include real-time, transaction level protection for commercial and individual customers; simplified identification of trusted trading partners and valid payment recipients; and facilitation of electronic transaction disputes between the financial institution and their client. To date ACH Alert’s fraud protection system has documented its clients and their customers have deterred more than $20 million of potential fraud.

Features include cash withdrawal at Chase’s 17,500 ATMs and 5,500 branches nationwide; Direct deposit for paychecks or government benefits such as Social Security; allow transfer to Chase Liquid from Chase accounts via Chase.com or Chase ATMs; and account alerts via text or email.

Sage Pay Partners Mobank on mCommerce

Sage Pay has partnered The MoBank Group, allowing its 40,000+ merchant clients to integrate onto the mobile channel via MoPowered, The Mobank Group’s secure Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) mCommerce solution. This in response to Sage Pay’s annual business survey indicating only 5% of e-tailers currently had apps, but 40% planned to invest in one within 12 months. This is further supported by a report undertaken by MoBank which found that 89% of SME retailers believed that mCommerce was a necessity for the growth of their business, but only 24% had integrated an mCommerce site. The MoPowered platform has been developed with SME merchants in mind, allowing them to achieve a fully transactional mobile commerce site within a matter of weeks that is fully compatible with PCI DSS.
