Fime, a global leader in consulting and market integration testing services for NFC solutions expanded in Asia with the opening of its NFC mobile test laboratory in Seoul, South Korea and will accommodate the growing demand for EMV testing of NFC mobile phones. MasterCard & Deutsche Telekom Forge Euro mPayment Partnership

MasterCard and Deutsche Telekom announced a European partnership to furnish mobile payments for Deutsche Telekom’s 93 million mobile customers. The first consumer roll-out will take place in Poland later this year. Also this year German consumers will be introduced to mobile payments, initially in a trial with mobile phone tags and cards, continuing into the first half of next year with a mobile wallet service which will also be open to other issuing banks and partners. Deutsche Telekom will issue the MasterCard products via its subsidiary company ClickandBuy, the owner of an e-money licence. Products will also be launched in other European markets.

GlobalCollect & XS Software Expand on Partnership

GlobalCollect online payment services in eCommerce, and XS Software, a leading platform for browser-based games announced the extension of their partnership and the first results of the launch of Maestro International; MasterCard’s secure debit card solution for eCommerce. XS Software has started processing Maestro in Bulgaria, Croatia, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Romania and Spain. Compared to the months of April and May, statistics showed the integration of Maestro has caused a significant rise of 9,13% in this month’s sales revenues of XS Software and an increase of the number of transactions with both Credit and Debit Card payments of 10,07% in these Euro markets. National Payment Card Association Granted mWallet Patent

National Payment Card Association (NPCA) www.nationalpaymentcard.com has been issued a third United States patent in the area of decoupled debit technology. This most recent patent is in the rapidly emerging mobile payments area. “Decoupled debit” payment methods refer to situations in which a US checking account holder from any bank or credit union is able to accomplish an electronic payment without needing to use a card issued by the bank or credit union they have their checking or debit card with. The patent is United States Patent Number 8,205,791, titled “Payment System and Methods”. The patent contains 28 claims, including various independent claims for a consumer to fund a mobile wallet via an ACH payment method for the holder of a United States checking account with a financial institution to accomplish a purchase at a retail site.
